Learn about the four symptoms, causes, and treatments of Meniere's disease.
I am recording the treatment process I received after Menier's disease affected my quality of life.
Additionally, by recording the causes and four symptoms of Meniere's disease, if you are experiencing dizziness, checking your symptoms once might be helpful.
While crossing the crosswalk on my way to work, just like any other day, I suddenly started feeling dizzy.
I felt dizzy for about 10 minutes, and I wonder how I crossed the crosswalk. As I was crossing, I thought, am I going to get hit by a car and die?
I have a memory of being so scared while crossing the crosswalk that I thought I might not make it.
After the dizziness subsided, I searched on the internet and found that the causes of dizziness are really diverse. The most common condition that came up was benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), followed by Meniere's disease.
So I wondered if I also had benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and visited the ENT clinic, and during my first visit, I was told it wasn't benign paroxysmal positional vertigo!
However, I was informed that visiting the hospital when symptoms are present is necessary for an accurate diagnosis.
After spending a few days like that, the symptoms reappeared, so I visited the hospital and had tests done, and I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease.
And fortunately, it was not a situation that required surgical treatment, so I received medication therapy.
Additionally, I established my own daily routines, believing that maintaining a regular lifestyle helps with management.
Although I have improved a lot now, on days when I am tired or not feeling well, I still experience clicking sounds or tinnitus in my ears, so it's a disease I carry like a ticking time bomb.ㅠ.ㅠ
What is Ménière's disease? It is a condition caused by swelling of the endolymphatic duct, which contains the endolymph fluid in the cochlea located deep inside the ear, leading to increased pressure inside the ear. Its causes and symptoms are very diverse.
