(Concern) How to improve numbness in the arms and hands caused by nerve damage after removal of a posterior neck tumor?
When I have symptoms of a cervical or lumbar disc herniation
I once left a helpful tip suggesting that to get an accurate diagnosis with an MRI, it might not be a disc but a spinal cord tumor.
The symptoms my husband thought were a herniated disc in his neck last January,
Suffering for a year due to a spinal cord extramedullary tumor that grew and pressed on nerves, causing symptoms identical to a cervical disc herniation.
I only realized it was a benign tumor after an MRI and then underwent surgery.
Since it is a tumor that developed on the nerve, removing the tumor inevitably caused nerve damage.
2% of tumors may cause more nerve damage, so I left it. It was said that the tumor root was completely removed and it might be okay.
The results from the first-year check-up show that it hasn't grown any further, so the surgery went well overall.
They said it can be considered cured. The surgery was performed at Seoul Samsung Hospital.
Since it is thyroid nerve surgery, if done incorrectly, it can even lead to paralysis of the entire body.
I found all the famous professors in Seoul and scheduled the surgery with the one who could perform it the fastest.
The surgery lasted almost 9 hours.
The white area visible in the photo below is a benign tumor that was present on our groom's neck nerve.
It was a relief that at least it wasn't malignant.
The doctor at the hospital mentioned that tingling in the arm can occur, but...
After a year, while running, vibrations and shocks are applied to the left arm, causing a sharp, tingling pain.
Sometimes, my arms or hands feel numb even during daily activities.
Will these symptoms of arm tingling and hand tingling improve over time as the nerves get used to it?
Is there a treatment method that can help alleviate these tingling symptoms caused by nerve damage?
It's not to the point of suffering greatly in daily life, but...
Still, perhaps due to changes in the weather or times like this, the damaged nerves become more sensitive.
There are times when I feel a little pain, so I wonder if there is a way to improve it out of concern.
I am looking into various places.
If you have experienced improvement after suffering from nerve damage on the other side, not necessarily the vagus nerve.
I would appreciate it if you could also refer to that method.
The link below is a tip I left previously.
This is a message suggesting that before doing exercises believed to be good for a herniated disc, you should first get an MRI.
