People who eat a lot of vegetables in the evening had a 45% lower risk of death compared to those who do not. On the other hand, people who consume a lot of processed meat in the evening had a 74% higher risk of death from cardiovascular disease compared to those who do not.
Insulin is secreted differently according to the biological rhythm.
Why did this result occur? Carbohydrate metabolism and insulin secretion all occur in accordance with the biological rhythm. These activities are smooth in the morning but gradually decrease from noon. Therefore, foods containing carbohydrates should be eaten in the morning or at lunch.
Many diabetic patients have difficulty controlling their blood pressure in the evening. Dark leafy greens are rich in antioxidants and help regulate blood pressure, so it is recommended to eat broccoli and similar vegetables at dinner. Since inflammation and oxidative stress responses are more active in the evening, processed meat consumption should be avoided during this time.
