Blister on the eyelid, treated for blepharitis.

I often get yellow blisters on the inside of my eyelids in Penso. Once again, I developed a blister of a similar shape and visited an ophthalmologist. I'm sharing my review of the treatment for blepharitis I received at the ophthalmology clinic.

 

Inside the eyelid, specifically the meibomian gland. I often get yellow blisters on the meibomian gland area, like in the picture below.

I usually just remove it with a cotton swab or my hand, but this time a blister has appeared againㅠㅠ

 

 

However, this time, the shape and color were different from before.

It's also white and opaque, isn't it?!

I couldn't move it with a cotton swab or my hand, and it was so annoying that I visited an ophthalmologist every time I blinked.

 

 

Last time I posted a question on Cashdoc, someone commented about blepharitis. (Thank you, An Lemon, for your comment!)

Oh, I wondered if I had blepharitis, and when I searched, the symptoms were similar to mine.

 

 

The ophthalmologist confirmed that it is indeed blepharitis as expected!!
They suggested treating blepharitis right there, so I immediately started removing the vesicles.
At first, they punctured or pinched the blister and then removed it, and they used a cotton swab to squeeze out the remaining residue inside. It was really painful when they used the cotton swab 😭😭😭
After finishing everything, the doctor said, "I'll give you an injection. It might sting~," but squeezing with a cotton swab was more painful than the injection in my eyelidㅠㅠ hahaha

After completing the treatment for this painful blepharitis, there were no additional medications prescribed, only ointment.

Now the scab has fallen off, only a slight mark remains, and it has healed completely!

 

The reason for developing blepharitis is that the oil and waste from the meibomian glands are not properly discharged, leading to the formation of blisters. The doctor told me to think of it like the sebum or pimples that appear on the skin. In my case, it wasn't a large blister that burst and disappeared, but I received blepharitis treatment at the hospital. However, when the blisters are mild, you can also treat blepharitis at home by yourself!

There is a cleansing solution that can be used with the prescribed eye ointment or to clean the meibomian glands. If the symptoms occur too frequently, they said to treat blepharitis with that.

For those who frequently develop styes, it is best to assess the condition and treat blepharitis at home through self-care, or if it appears like a papilloma (wart), simply go to an ophthalmologist immediately for blepharitis treatment—this is the cleanest method. I personally find that I always get them when I can't sleep and am tired.

Of course, the most important thing is to manage your immunity and stress to prevent blepharitis from occurring in the first place. Everyone, get plenty of sleep!!
