A review of treatment at Hanmaeum Hospital after being diagnosed with reflux esophagitis.
Early last year, I went to Hanmaeum Hospital for a health checkup and had my first gastroscopy in my life, and was diagnosed with reflux esophagitis.
At that time, I occasionally felt a stomachache, but I didn't have any other symptoms, so I was confused when I was told it was reflux esophagitis.
At that time, the examination result notification contained a kind explanation about reflux esophagitis, so I am attaching a photo.
One of my really bad habits that I can't seem to break is eating too fast.
I guess that's probably what caused the reflux esophagitis.
Esophagitis, especially reflux esophagitis, is a condition in which stomach acid flows back up into the esophagus, causing heartburn, chest tightness, heartburn, and a feeling of a foreign body stuck in the throat. In my case, it was not severe, so I was prescribed simple medication and was warned to be careful about my stomach health in the future.
When people say they have a bad stomach, the first food that comes to mind is cabbage, which is known to be good for the stomach, so I ordered some and ate it too.
Honestly, original cabbage juice is so bland, I recommend buying it mixed with other ingredients like apples or broccoli. It's more palatable. I bought the original cabbage juice at first and almost fell in love with it. The mixed version I bought later was surprisingly easy to drink.
Cabbage is said to be good for your stomach health, so I recommend eating it regularly.
When I felt sick, I took a digestive aid called Cabbage.
Personally, I find it difficult to break my habit of enjoying spicy foods and eating quickly.
Of course, if I had suffered severely from reflux esophagitis symptoms, I would have been alarmed, but since I didn't experience any major discomfort, I think I was more complacent. It was at a time like this that I should have been more health-conscious, but I was foolish.
Because I went back to the hospital the following year and received treatment for gastric ulcer symptoms.
I think early management is important in anything. I personally learned a great lesson from it.
These days, I try to remind myself to avoid spicy foods and chew my food slowly and thoroughly every time I eat. Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a condition caused by poor eating habits, so lifestyle changes are crucial.
First, avoid overeating and late-night snacking. And never lie down immediately after a meal. Foods to avoid include alcohol, caffeine, fatty foods, sour fruit juices, and carbonated beverages. If you're obese, you should lose weight. Squatting is not good for reflux esophagitis because it increases abdominal pressure.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic condition that often recurs due to poor dietary habits. Many people, like me, take it lightly and end up developing gastric ulcers. Furthermore, if GERD persists for a long time, it can lead to esophageal strictures. If the strictures become severe and make swallowing difficult, surgery such as esophageal dilatation may be necessary. Therefore, just because GERD is common, it shouldn't be ignored.
They say that what can be stopped with a hoe is stopped with phlegm. I believe that it's crucial to prevent any illness by managing it before it becomes serious, and to treat and cure it early.
I hope you all take care of your health and stay healthy before you get sick.
