Gastritis is a disease caused by Korean dietary habits, such as enjoying spicy, salty, and刺激 foods, excessive stress, irregular lifestyles, and the effects of coffee, alcohol, and smoking.
If you think lightly of it, it can develop into a serious disease such as chronic gastritis or stomach cancer, so catching it early is important.
For those with poor eating habits or suffering from gastritis, even if you have never had gastritis before, it is a disease that anyone can get, so treatment and prevention are essential.
I would like to share five methods of treatment and management that were used before it became chronic^^
What is gastritis?
Inflammation has occurred on the mucous membrane above.
Types of gastritis
Acute gastritis
Sudden inflammation appearing and then disappearing on the upper part
Manifestation of excessive stress or side effects of medication
Severe pain
Chronic gastritis
Gastritis lasting more than three months
Helicobacter pylori infection caused by New Year's, alcohol consumption, and irregular eating habits
There are also cases with no symptoms.
Early symptoms of gastritis
* Abdominal pain, diarrhea
Hiccups
* Heartburn
* Stomach acid reflux
Stomach pain

Causes of gastritis
Unhealthy eating habits (spicy, salty, and刺激 foods)
Irregular meal times
Helicobacter pylori (also a cause of chronic gastritis)
Smoking, alcohol consumption, and excessive intake of carbonated drinks and caffeine
Excessive stress
Antibiotic intake
I first learned that I had gastritis when I was in high school.
When I was in high school, I often felt unusually uncomfortable in my stomach, and stomach acid would rise, giving me a burning sensation in my esophagus.
I suddenly vomited even though I wasn't feeling sick.
Whenever I was under stress, I experienced severe pain in my chest and couldn't move.
My lower abdomen always felt like it was full of gas, and I had severe bloating.
Why I have developed gastritis over time
I will share the methods I have used to treat and manage my condition from high school until now!!
< Reasons for Developing Gastritis >
My first gastritis suddenly appeared when I was in high school.
When I entered high school, I was forced to part ways with my friends I used to hang out with in middle school.
My high school days were really difficult times.
There were friends I greeted and talked to formally, but
I didn't have any friends with whom I shared my feelings, just like middle school friends.
During a time when friendships were so important, I had to attend high school without even a single friend.
I think all the sadness and stress I felt just thinking about going to school was piling up.
In that state, having to focus on studies as well, I reached the peak of stress.
That's how I ended up with gastritis.
It was acute gastritis.
Excessive stress was the cause.
Since I was under a lot of stress, I was busy looking for spicy and刺激的 foods after school.
I relieved my stress by eating.
Symptoms of suffering from gastritis and the trauma of being teased
At first, I didn't even realize it was gastritis.
At some point, after eating the school meal and coming out, I felt unwell.
I only ate a little, but I felt indigestion and at the same time, I experienced severe pain in my chest as if I was bloated.
I vomited all the food after the meal.
Even though I vomited the food, my stomach still felt stuffy.
Oh.. I think I might vomit again after eating.
One day, I went hungry.
Because I was starving, green bile is rising up my throat.
It's because your stomach is empty, so gastric juice is coming out.
It was very bitter and my throat hurt.
Since this kept happening, even my voice was gradually becoming deeper.
I first felt the sensation of heartburn at that time.
Whenever I paid a little more attention to something, I would feel a burning sensation in my stomach and be busy vomiting gastric juice.
While attending class at school, suddenly I felt a surge of stomach acid rising up.
Without even being able to tell the teacher that I was going to the bathroom
I ran to the bathroom and vomited... It was really painful.
Thanks to you, I was able to... with the boys in high school.
Are you pregnant?
Are you experiencing morning sickness?
How many months pregnant are you? When are you going to have the baby?
I attended school even after being teased with that.
Eventually, I developed trauma related to vomiting.
As a result, I have never been able to vomit in front of others until now. I can't even allow myself to vomit when no one is around or when someone taps my back.
Visited internal medicine due to worsening symptoms
At first, I thought it was just indigestion and simply couldn't digest.
The symptoms are gradually worsening, and even though I haven't eaten, stomach acid keeps coming up several times a day.
I felt the severity and visited the internal medicine department.
They said I need to have an endoscopy.
I had never heard of endoscopy before, and I tried it for the first time.
I chose to undergo a sleep endoscopy because I heard doing it normally is difficult.
Even though I had sedation for the sleep endoscopy, my body doesn't respond well to anesthesia, so I was awake ㅠㅠ
You had a sleep endoscopyㅠㅠ
I cried throughout, felt like vomiting, and drooled.
It was really painful.
I was diagnosed with acute gastritis based on the endoscopy results.
You received the prescribed medication and returned home.
I felt a little better after taking the medicine, so I was somewhat relieved.
However,
People tend to become complacent once they start feeling comfortable.
Thinking that everything has been treated and fully recovered.
I went to college.
Surely, the gastric acid had stopped, and digestion was going well...
I felt that people really don't change easily.
Trying to erase the memory of having a bad friendship in high school
To get along well with friends during university,
I ended up drinking with friends all night and even smoking by chance.
Ordering spicy food for late-night snacks and drinking excessively
I'm a student and I don't have money, so I'm trying to earn some pocket money.
On days when I didn't have plans with friends, I worked a night part-time job.
As I developed such irregular habits, I guess stress was accumulating without me even realizing it.
The disease called gastritis came to me again.
5 Methods Used Before Treating Chronic Gastritis
Changing a habit that a person has once developed is really difficult.
Especially for someone impulsive like me, it was even more difficult.
Even though I knew everything, it was hard to put it into practice.
I will share the methods I have been using to manage and treat since then.
(I will try to write down ways to do it while living currently)
First rule: Have regular meals & avoid long fasting periods
My work hours end at 10 PM.
Despite it being late after work to eat something
After finishing work, feeling liberated, I ate late-night snacks (spicy food, flour-based items, and sugary foods).
So, no matter how much I go to the hospital and get treatment, the gastritis keeps recurring.
Whether you eat little or a lot, your stomach still hurts and stomach acid rises.
I'm worried that this might really develop into stomach cancer later, so I have improved my eating habits for now.
I eat eggs and chicken breast between 6 and 7 PM during work.
Supplement your nutrition in between so you don't eat late-night snacks.
Late-night snacks are really a big problem for gastritis.
It is important to plan meal times well so that fasting periods are not too long and to eat meals regularly.
Are there people who lie down immediately after eating?
You absolutely must not do that!!!!
Lying down after a meal can lead to various gastrointestinal disorders beyond gastritis or acid reflux esophagitis.
You should lie down at least two hours after a meal.
Second, abstain from or reduce alcohol consumption
The gastritis I developed after becoming an adult was usually caused by alcohol.
I tend to stop drinking alcohol because it makes my stomach feel upset.
Before developing gastritis, my stomach felt fine, so I ate whatever was given to me.
Eventually, the burden on the stomach became too much, and a red light appeared on the stomach.
I strongly felt that I should quit drinking.
Quitting alcohol is really difficult, isn't it...
Especially for those who really enjoy drinking, it's really difficult (that's meㅠㅠ)
Anyway, I am trying hard not to force myself to drink alcohol.
I am abstaining from alcohol at really important events or gatherings where I meet friends occasionally.
If I used to drink alcohol every day in the past, I hardly drink it now.
I intentionally take my car when I might end up drinking alcohol.
When I think about driving home, I naturally avoid drinking alcohol.
Reduce caffeine and spicy foods for the third time
Did you know that caffeine is not good for gastritis?
I used to really love coffee in the past and drank it every day, but now I only have coffee once in a while.
I quit coffee, and recently I got hooked on Hot Six, so I bought a large quantity of Hot Six to drink...
I have completely stopped drinking Hot Six now.
I was really addicted and found it hard to quit, but every time I think of caffeine, I drink a lot of water.
I also set the D-day on the mobile app.
Setting a D-day like this and checking how much I've quit motivates me even more.
Certainly, reducing caffeine makes my stomach feel more comfortable.
Of course, provocative foods would put a lot of strain on the stomach, right?
Certainly, lately I've been dieting and reducing flour and spicy, salty foods.
My stomach feels comfortable and I don't have a stomach ache.
Since hot food is also said to be bad for gastritis, it's better to reduce it.
Lose weight while taking care of your stomach health.
Not only your overall health, but your skin also improves. It benefits all aspects of health.
I can't even count how many benefits this is worth^^
Fourth: Stress Management & Regular Exercise
Excessive stress inhibits the secretion of digestive enzymes.
It is said that it inhibits stomach movement, which interferes with digestion.
Managing stress is easy to talk about, but I think it's really difficult.
The main causes of stress are my workplace, financial situation, and my current overweight body.
You know the saying, "If you can't avoid it, enjoy it," right?
I try to think positively.
I always try to smile even if it's not funny.
I'm going to the park after work while listening to exciting music.
I am doing night running while listening to music.
I can't do it every day, but I am gradually increasing the frequency.
There's nothing better than exercise for relieving stress!!
Regular exercise helps build a healthy body and manage stress, so I feel my stomach pain is also decreasing.
Fifth hospital: Medication treatment & foods good for gastritis
It's only natural to visit the hospital when you're sick.
However, in cases like chronic gastritis, there are also asymptomatic cases, so it is important to receive treatment and regular check-ups.
Do not be reassured just because you have no symptoms; please go to the hospital for a check-up and be sure to receive the appropriate treatment.
I usually neglected going to the hospital because I didn't want to go, but I realized too late that it was to my disadvantage.
Please make sure to undergo medication treatment to prevent it from worsening!!
If even a slight symptom of gastritis appears
Regularly check whether you have overeaten or binge eaten when you have meals.
Binge eating and overeating are prohibited!!
Please consume foods that are good for gastritis.
Foods good for gastritis
Soft foods (porridge, oatmeal, scrambled eggs)
Vegetables (carrots, cabbage, broccoli - it's better to eat them cooked rather than raw)
Protein (chicken breast, fish, tofu)
Fruits (banana, apple, pear, and other fruits not listed)
I don't really like cabbage.
It's a bit difficult to cook and eat it after boiling.
So, I am drinking barley grass cabbage tea in powder form.
It can be mixed with water or milk.
I am just drinking it mixed with water.
Since I ate consistently, the chest pain decreased and I didn't have any heartburn, so I felt good^^
I also bought chicken breast again and am lightly preparing it as a meal replacement for dinner.
Some people who have gastritis may be following these precautions, but
There may also be people who cannot do that!!
I have also been hurt because there were many parts I couldn't keep.
I'm now trying to do my best to keep an eye on it.
I should take care of my health when I can.
These are methods that seem truly obvious and easy, but are difficult to follow.
If it had been easy to follow everything, I wouldn't have had worries about gastritis or felt the need to write this.ㅠㅠ
Having experienced gastritis or
Suffering from gastritis or experiencing pain due to gastritis
To prevent future occurrences of gastritis
I shared the parts of my treatment and management based on my painful experience^^
I hope this helps, even just a little.
