My five efforts to restore 'Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease' to its proper place
I had heartburn due to acid reflux before, but I didn't realize it was actually acid reflux disease.
Just considered it a simple, temporary stomach ache or heartburn, so I tried taking Gelpos, but it didn't get better.
Then, during the annual health checkup, I found out that I have gastroesophageal reflux disease, and I finally understood why I had been experiencing such stomach discomfort all this time.
I learned about reflux esophagitis, and I have been researching how to cure it and how to improve the situation, and I am also making efforts to do so.
Symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is generally a condition where stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing inflammation of the esophageal lining. I think that’s why I experienced the most severe burning sensation in my chest.
There were no other particular symptoms.
I found that there are also various other conditions such as reflux, difficulty swallowing, nausea, and chronic laryngeal symptoms.
Efforts and treatment to overcome reflux esophagitis
- The first thing that came to mind was getting a prescription at the hospital.
- Avoid overeating and late-night snacks; that's the best knowledge. Do not lie down immediately after a meal.
- It is advisable to avoid foods that contain a lot of acids that can irritate the esophageal mucosa, such as certain fruits and carbonated drinks.
- In the case of obesity, weight loss is necessary.
- Do not wear tight clothing that increases intra-abdominal pressure.
- Antacids, gastric acid secretion inhibitors, and prokinetic agents are used.
I practiced having late-night snacks, prescribing medication, not lying down immediately after meals, reducing carbonated drinks, and cutting back on coffee here.
Even just doing this greatly improves reflux esophagitis.
The most important thing to treat acid reflux esophagitis is overeating.
Anything, I think diseases are related to food.
I will continue to manage it consistently and do my best to prevent the recurrence of reflux esophagitis.
