내시경 진행하셨군요 고생하셨ㅈ습니다~~!!
I had a polyp removal after a colonoscopy.
Recently, I often feel indigestion and a constant bloated, uncomfortable feeling as if my stomach is full of gas, and for a few days I also experienced diarrhea, so I visited a recent internal medicine clinic.
While I was at it, I received a recommendation for an endoscopy that I haven't had in two years, and since the government provides benefits for it, I decided to have a colonoscopy done at the same time.
This hospital offers almost all health checkups. It is a medium-sized internal medicine clinic, neither very large nor small.
This is a place I used to visit often when I had symptoms of enteritis, but this is my first time having a colonoscopy here.
There are two options for medication. One is the liquid form that you mix with water as shown in the picture, and the other is in pill form. Most people are familiar with liquid medicine. It’s really hard to drink, isn’t it? It feels like your stomach is going to burst, and your stomach doesn’t settle well. It’s really, really difficult, isn’t it? ㅠㅠ
So, pills would be better, but since pills are not covered by insurance, they cost around 40,000 won. The difference is nearly ten times.
So I just chose the basic medication even if it's difficult. The medication should be taken as shown in the picture the day before the test. Also, I was told to avoid all red or seed-containing foods.
I only ate tofu. Haha
On the day of the test!
I chose a sleep endoscopy. I just can't do it fully awake. Haha
We insert the needle as shown in the picture, perform blood tests, and even conduct a sleep endoscopy.
Fortunately, there are no office workers being tested at the moment, so I went straight to the testing room after the needle was inserted without any waiting.
And as shown in the picture, lie on your side in a curled-up position for the examination. They will place medicine in your mouth. Do not swallow it; hold it in your mouth for about 10 seconds and then spit it out.
And then I don't remember after putting something like a funnel in my mouth. Haha.
Mr. 00, please wake up~
Someone is tapping me gently to wake me up.
Ah~ I slept well. I'm still a bit groggy, but I feel like I slept well. I couldn't sleep the night before because I kept going back and forth to the bathroom. Is this why it's called propofol? Haha
The tests are already finished.
I waited again to hear an explanation of the test results.
However.......
They said they removed a polyp. They showed me a picture. The upper part has a slight reflux esophagitis. However, this is a common condition that many people experience, so it's not a problem.
The issue is a polyp, but since it's not large, they said they removed it immediately during the examination. They will send it for a biopsy just in case, but they think there won't be any problems at this level.
If there is a problem with the tissue biopsy of this polyp, it indicates a tumor, so we need to be more cautious in the future.
✔On the way back......
Hearing that it's a small thing reassures me, but I can't stop thinking about it.
What if I had continued without getting tested this year as well?
Just thinking about it makes me dizzy, and it makes me realize why I must get a health checkup every year.
I have reflected on it. ㅠㅠ
Now, I really shouldn't delay my health check-up!
I realized that I shouldn't only visit the hospital when I'm sick, but also need to diligently undergo health screenings.
Everyone reading this, including you, make sure to get a health checkup every year!!
Depending on the doctor performing the examination at the hospital, there may be polyps or illnesses that are missed. Therefore, I would recommend that you undergo the test every year.
Please make sure to try it if you haven't already.
