Helicobacter pylori found during gastroscopy, first-line treatment review
I had an endoscopy as part of a health checkup, and the test results came back positive for Helicobacter pylori.
I was trying to work out hard and manage my diet...
For reference, I had no symptoms before the endoscopy.
So, I started treatment for Helicobacter pylori. As I began treatment for Helicobacter pylori, I realized it wasn't as simple as I thought.
For your information, Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that lives in the stomach lining and is said to increase the risk of causing gastritis, gastric ulcers, and in severe cases, even gastric cancer!
This is a picture of my upper gastrointestinal endoscopy taken during my treatment.
If you look at the side indicated by the arrow, you can see the red, colorful stomach wall.
That's the Helicobacter pylori.
Treatment for Helicobacter pylori involves taking antibiotics twice a day for 14 days to eliminate the Helicobacter pylori.
Precautions attached to the outside of the medicine bag.
Although I usually don't have any side effects from antibiotics, I experienced stomach upset because the medicine was so toxic and I was taking two antibiotics at the same time. The medicine is toxic, so for a while When I woke up in the morning, there was a bitter taste in my mouth.
I have diarrhea and stomachache... It's not just me, it's one of the common symptoms that people experience after taking medicine.
After completing the two-week course of medication, you will return to the hospital in 4 to 6 weeks to undergo a test to confirm that Helicobacter pylori has been eradicated.
The inspection method is
1) Fasting for 4 hours before the test (including water)
2) Take one pill and wait for about 15 minutes (Do not talk after taking the pill..!)
3) Blow into the test kit in the laboratory 15 times like blowing up a balloon.
4) The test is complete when you submit the test kit.
The test was simple.
The results took about 5 minutes and I was soon taken into the examination room.
The doctor said that the treatment for Helicobacter pylori was successful and that I no longer have Helicobacter pylori!
The endoscopy showed inflammation, but it was normal and there were no problems. Only then did I relax.
Although I'm now free of Helicobacter pylori, I'm told there's no cure. There's always a chance of reinfection.
And they said that it doesn't mean that you have to get eradication treatment every time you have Helicobacter pylori again, and that it depends on the condition.
I left the clinic after telling them that I would get a health checkup every two years to check it out.
I was worried because I had to take stronger medication for the second round of Helicobacter pylori treatment, but I'm so happy that the treatment ended with the first round.
I appreciate your efforts in enduring the bloating and taking your medicine at 7 AM and 7 PM, every 12 hours.
If you search, you'll find a lot of articles disguised as advertisements saying that taking nutritional supplements is better because the medicine is too strong and bitter... but please take your medicine!
Helicobacter pylori infection is rarely transmitted through food ingestion, but rather through person-to-person transmission, so it's common for it to spread within families. Everyone should get a health checkup and take good care of their health.
