Found a tumor in my lungs during the grateful health checkup provided by the schoolㅜ

When children go to school, they have health checkups from time to time. Honestly, I was grateful, but it was mostly just a formality.

I really appreciated it this timeㅜ

Found a tumor in my lungs during the grateful health checkup provided by the schoolㅜ

My eldest, who is a senior in high school, had a group tuberculosis test at school at the end of June, and I received a message around 5 PM, when the July exams were just ending, saying that something was seen in the lungs ⬆️. Since there is a strong family history related to the liver, I was worried about the liver, but I never expected the lungs! I was taken aback. The homeroom teacher also said it was the first time she saw something like that.

That led to me getting the test.

Went to internal medicine and had an X-ray taken again. I was hesitant, but the cyst is quite large... Also, since the color differentiation in black and white is unsettling, they told me to get a CT scan.

Since next week is vacation, I'll go to the screening center for a CT scan in a week... They told me to visit the university hospital... Wow...

Since it was difficult to schedule an appointment first, I was told to go directly to the emergency room, so I moved immediately.

Fortunately, there is Bundang Seoul National University Hospital near my house.. Those who know, know, right? Truly.. the emergency room is always full of people..

I was waiting and followed the advice to redo the blood test and X-ray, then injected contrast and took another CT scan, and kept waiting... but the results are the same as the screening center's results. They said there is a 6.5 cm mass in the lung mediastinumㅠ

The location is also not good. For the kids, the important thing is whether this is malignant or a teratoma, which is the key issue... Since the child has no symptoms, we couldn't bring them in for immediate treatment, so the earliest appointment we could get was August 10th. It's almost 25 days later, but since that's the earliest available date, we had no choice but to wait.

My younger sister and nieces are staying with me abroad, and my biological mother also came up from the countryside for a hospital checkup and was staying at my younger brother's place. I was really busy every day, and it was already August 10th. I took a day off and went to Seoul National University Hospital early in the morning with my husband and child. We went to the cardiothoracic vascular and lung center for a consultation, and it was confirmed to be benignㅠ. The size is large, and it could suddenly rupture inside the body one day, but since it's benign, there are a lot of bad things inside. It can attach to other organs and turn into cancer, so it needs to be operated on as soon as possible... Wow.

But they found out how, and they were amazed.

Thank you so much for the school group health check-upㅠㅠ

The primary doctor... luckily, it's vacation time... so I said...

Yes.. but school starts next week..

And... I'm a third-year high school studentㅜ Hani..

Oh dear~ I need to do it as quickly as possible... they said...

While talking about another doctor...

I was really surprised to hear that I should set a date for tomorrow.

I'm going out to discuss... as expected, there are no hospital rooms available.

They said to wait all day in the emergency room, and if we wait, they will secure a hospital room and perform the surgery tomorrow.

So... preparing for admission by doing various tests...

I stayed in the emergency room until night and managed to secure a hospital room. The next day's surgery was unexpectedly moved from afternoon to morning, so I hurried to the hospital and waited for the surgery... Fortunately, it wasn't malignant at allㅠ I am so incredibly grateful.

Due to continuous fasting... there were side effects of no pain, so I struggled with dizziness and nausea, but I am a brave little dog who overcame it wellㅎㅎ

Ulae... When I was discharged, I finally ate proper hospital food, and it was really delicious lol

I'm grateful because he's an endlessly positive guy haha.

It's a laparoscopic surgery... about 6cm? The scar is quite largeㅠ

From what I hear, laparoscopic surgery is usually about 2 to 2.5 cm... but for our child, the cyst was quite large at 6.5 cm, so I think they went in laparoscopically and then expanded it a bit more... and a little more. Maybe that's why the surgical site is bigger. ^^;;; Anyway, I'm glad the surgery went well, and I just hope it heals nicely.

Before the end of vacation, the time until discharge flew by so quickly and chaotically. And now I'm back at school and attending classes right away haha since I'm a senior in high school ^^;;ㅋ

Before the consultation... I had already heard from the internal medicine and emergency room... They said I might need surgery, but since I am a high school senior, the key question was whether I could wait until after the college entrance exam to do it... Luckily, I was able to have the surgery and be discharged all at onceㅎㅎ I really feel blessedㅎ I received the benefits that I wouldn't have expected as a high school senior at a university hospitalㅎ

Really.. I am truly grateful for the group health check-up.

Everyone, please check the children's results carefully after the school health check-up^^
