Blood sugar levels that were okay until the year before last.

Last year, I was told that my blood sugar levels were high during a health checkup, and the National Health Insurance Service has been monitoring and managing it regularly. From that point on, I decided to reduce my sugar intake and take better care of my health.

 

Since adult diseases can become chronic illnesses, it is very important to prevent them in advance and to practice those measures!

 

What is the method I chose to reduce my sugar intake?

A few years ago, it was difficult to easily find substitute sweeteners, but in recent years, the keto diet has become popular and many alternative sweeteners have been introduced, leading to a boom. As a result, there are now many substitutes for sugar that help reduce sugar intake on people's tables and in households.

For example, the more people know about unrefined honey, allulose, stevia, xylitol, etc., the more attention they pay while shopping!

 

Actually, the best taste comes from refined sugar, which is white sugar.

However, when looking at the production process, sugars like unrefined sugars such as allulose, stevia, and xylitol, which are absorbed less by the body, are much better.

Recently, 'zero' cola, zero carbonation, and zero-calorie drinks are in vogue. It's quite amazing that they can have sweetness while being zero calories.

 

First, I use various alternative sweeteners at home. I use them differently depending on the type of dish or method of use.

 

Refined raw sugar (cane sugar)

The primary product obtained after juicing or extracting sugarcane and concentrating it is raw sugar, which contains a large amount of nutrients and inorganic fibers in their natural state!

 

Unrefined raw sugar, which is made by concentrating the juice through juicing, evaporating the moisture, and turning it into powder, contains pure natural carbohydrates, an essential energy source for the human body.

 

It contains nutritional components, minerals, fiber, and pure natural carbohydrates, making it less absorbable than refined sugar.

 

This unrefined raw sugar has a lower sweetness level compared to regular sugar, but the taste is very similar, and it contains a large amount of nutrients such as minerals and trace elements, making it even better!

 

Refined sugar (white sugar) is made from unrefined raw sugar produced through processes such as refining, crystallization, separation, and drying. To increase the purity of sugar, a chemical refining process is used, during which all nutrients other than sweetness are eliminated, leaving only pure sugar.

 

In other words, 99.5% is carbohydrates, excluding 0.5% moisture.

 

Refined sugar is a disaccharide (monosaccharide + monosaccharide) that is converted into monosaccharides in the body and absorbed directly. During this process, the disaccharide sugar is rapidly broken down and absorbed by the body, which can lead to a sudden depletion of minerals, calcium, and other nutrients, raising concerns about its harmful effects.

 

I have come to prefer alternative sweeteners that are less absorbed by the body in various ways! They often appear in the Cash Doc quiz, and I think all our members will agree!

 

By using alternative sweeteners to reduce sugar intake, I have noticed a decrease in the numbness in my hands and feet that I used to feel every time, as well as a reduction in thirst and dry mouth, which makes me feel gradually healthier.

 

The sweetness is slightly less than sugar, but since it is effective in producing a sweet taste with a small amount, I find it satisfying because I can eat it in small portions!
