My husband is someone who consistently exercises, so I never thought he would develop diabetes and high blood pressure. However, all of his family members on his side were suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. Maybe because of the family history, he suddenly felt thirsty and started losing weight rapidly, which led him to visit the hospital. Eventually, he was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure in his mid-30s. Believing that medication and regular exercise would manage his condition because he was young, he continued with many commitments and couldn't control his health at all, so his medication levels kept increasing. On the fifth year after his diagnosis, his eldest brother-in-law passed away from acute renal failure caused by diabetic complications, and that was when we realized how truly frightening diabetes can be.
In our case, we had our first child after seven years, and since the children were still young, my husband's health was more valuable than any property. From that time, I started studying about diabetes and blood pressure, but I couldn't find anything that showed effective results.
However, by a fortunate coincidence, I found myself shouting "Simbatda~~~." After overeating at a wedding reception and returning home, I naturally thought my blood sugar would be high, so I checked my blood sugar, and an unbelievable normal reading appeared. Summer is the season when I look for cool things, so I tend to drink a lot of beverages. The drinks sold in stores are just sugar lumps, so I make and regularly drink sujeunggwa (cinnamon punch). Kids also like sujeunggwa, so they eat it well.
Another helpful tip is that mosquitoes really dislike the scent of cinnamon. If you mix cinnamon powder with alcohol and keep it at the entrance, you can enjoy summer without mosquitoes.
