During my high school summer vacation, I was burned all over my body by flames from a certain substance. Fortunately, I did not get burned on my face. At that moment, it felt like it was burning for about ten minutes, and even now, thinking about it, I feel dizzy.
Because it was summer and I was wearing shorts, I sustained burns on my legs and arms. However, at that time, perhaps due to luck, a relative worked at a U.S. military base, so I was able to use quite good burn ointment for treatment. After a month of treatment at home, the wounds healed completely, and I was able to return to school. However, standing during roll call was painful, making it difficult to stand for more than 10 minutes. The teacher understood and allowed me to sit during roll call, which was a special exception. Now, I can stand without issue, but at that time, for about 1 to 2 years, standing was difficult. The scars on the affected area were a bit uneven, but it wasn't on my face or legs, and it wasn't very severe. Moreover, since I was a boy, I never even dreamed of plastic surgery.
If it were now, I would have considered skin grafting surgery.
Actually, my wife also said she didn't think about the burn scars at that time, so they must have been hidden under the clothes and not visible.
The photo below shows the normal area and the treated area.
