Shouting "Malatang Furu"… "I don't want to grow old" What is the sudden change in diet among people in their 20s and 30s?

These days, it seems that many young people are interested in slow aging.

Our junior colleagues at the company are also worried about premature aging, adjusting their diets and exercising.

I also carefully check my blood sugar levels after meals...

I really prefer multigrain rice over plain white rice.

I'm trying to eat more vegetables these days.

My in-laws' ancestral rites disappeared due to COVID-19, so we don't prepare large holiday foods anymore, but when I meet with family, the food still tends to be heavy... I need to exercise. Haha

The "salty, sweet, and greasy" foods consumed during the Chuseok holiday accelerate our body's internal clock. They disrupt skin balance, cause blood sugar spikes, and accumulate visceral fat inside the body. Now that we have returned to our daily routines, how about recovering our bodies with a "slow aging" diet that eliminates刺激ing foods?

Recently, a diet called "slow aging," which aims to delay bodily aging, has gained attention mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). It involves limiting highly processed foods such as fried foods, butter, desserts, simple sugars, refined grains, and red meat. "Slow aging" literally means slowing down the body's aging process through improved eating habits, and it became popular after Professor Jeong Hee-won of Seoul Asan Medical Center introduced this diet. Professor Jeong claims that following a slow aging diet can extend lifespan by up to 10 years. Even young people accustomed to spicy, salty, and high-calorie, highly stimulating foods like "Malatang Furu" and "Yogurt Ice Cream" are responding positively to healthy foods that can reduce the aging speed to a quarter.

Holiday foods such as jeon (pancakes), fried foods, and japchae are high-calorie foods rich in oil. Eating a lot of greasy foods can cause the leftover cholesterol in the body to continuously accumulate on the walls of blood vessels, potentially blocking them. These foods also lead to the accumulation of visceral fat in the abdomen, which can increase active oxygen species that accelerate aging. For those already obese, the aging of visceral fat cells can occur rapidly, so greasy foods should be avoided. Salty and sweet foods can cause imbalances in skin moisture and oil, damage collagen, and lead to aging. Therefore, if you consumed a lot of salty and sweet foods during the holiday period, you should maintain a clean diet to give your body a recovery period.

Koreans are "rice-centered," but white rice should be consumed in moderation. The rice recommended in a low-aging diet is a mixture of oats, brown rice, white rice, and lentils in a ratio of 2:2:2:4. Oats are a "super grain" rich in essential amino acids, vitamin B, and vitamin E, and contain 2.8 times more plant-based protein than white rice. The beta-glucan component in oats helps lower cholesterol levels in the body, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. Brown rice, often sought after during dieting, contains essential nutrients such as vitamins and magnesium and is good for blood sugar regulation. Lentils are also rich in nutrients like protein and minerals.

Protein intake is also essential, so it is good to consume a variety of foods such as chicken, mackerel, salmon, and other fish, as well as tofu and chickpeas, at each meal. Of course, red meats like beef and pork are also high in protein, but they contain a lot of saturated fats that raise cholesterol levels, so they should be consumed in moderation. During meals, it is recommended to start with fiber-rich vegetables, then consume proteins like meat and fish, and finally eat carbohydrates such as rice. Eating vegetables first slows the rise in blood sugar, preventing blood sugar spikes and helping you feel full for a longer time.
