Recommend the One-Day LASIK event at Green Eye Clinic in Gangnam-gu~~

Why did I want to wear glasses so badly as a child?

I was truly blessed with 2.0 vision in both eyes~~ not knowing that was a gift from heaven...

I really want to wear glasses, so I glare at them, and I also glare at the fluorescent light...

Anyway, even then, my eyes, which hadn't gotten worse, started to gradually deteriorate around my first year of high school, even without overexerting myself with studying.

Moreover, since only my left eye worsened rapidly, I became very dizzy due to the difference in vision between both eyes, so I started wearing glasses. I've been living as a glasses wearer for over 30 years now...

I have never worn contact lenses during my lifetime, and I have only changed my glasses roughly once every 2 to 3 years. I've probably gone through more than 15 pairs by now, right?

Now I can hardly see people without glasses;; I have severe astigmatism, so I can't go about my daily life without my glasses. On top of that, I am also experiencing presbyopia;;;; It's even hard to read my favorite books.

I live as if glasses are a part of my body, but everyone who wears glasses will understand...

When I exercise or sweat in the summer, it keeps slipping from my nose. In winter, when I go inside from outside, my glasses fog up and I can't see anything. There are more than a few inconveniences in this world.

But I'm also afraid to wear contact lenses because I frequently get eye inflammation and I have a habit of unconsciously rubbing my eyes, which I haven't been able to break.

I have considered LASIK or LASEK before, but I’ve seen so many cases of side effects, and since they cut the cornea, I worry that I might go blind if something goes wrong. I’m such a coward that I just can’t bring myself to try it.

I just thought I would live as an eye-opener until I die~~~

Did I finally get double eyelid surgery earlier this year? I was so scared and hesitant, but once I actually did it, it wasn't a big deal. I also regret not doing it sooner, while I was still a bit younger. After my eyes got bigger, I started applying mascara, and then I even tried eyelash extensions...

My eyes definitely look prettier, but when I wear glasses~~ I just can't see the effect at all.

What's the point of spending money to look good if even with glasses I can't see anything? People keep criticizing me, asking why I don't get surgery...

They say I look much prettier without glasses, so why not have the surgery as soon as possible?

So! Finally!! I have started to 고민.

Are you going to have surgery???

These days, I'm looking into things by searching everywhere~~~

I was thinking about the CashDoc hospital event, so I searched diligently~~~

The ophthalmology hospital is Gangnam Pureun Eye Clinic in Seoul~~ I eagerly read through the reviews~~~

Wow, has the price dropped this much recently???

This person's review isn't long, but it's very similar to me... I'm in my late 40s, but I am suffering greatly from severe dry eyes and blurriness these days... Moreover, I frequently experience eye inflammation, causing my cornea to swell regularly, and it has already slightly stretched, so the blisters inside my eyes don't go away easily and remain.

Actually, the main reason I had double eyelid surgery was because it was the primary cause of my eye inflammation.

All procedures or surgeries are most concerned about side effects... Hearing positive reviews from people who had similar cases and were satisfied after surgery also reassures me... Many people shared the same thoughts as mine, and the most helpful thing was receiving the most support...

I think I was helpful too, so I pressed the heart firmly.

They say you get 5,000 points when you apply for a hospital event consultation~~ Since I've already decided, I think I'll go ahead and have the consultation.

I really read through the reviews diligently yesterday, and the reviews were quite positive.

I'm planning to call for a consultation, get advice from people I know who have had surgery, receive hospital recommendations, and compare and analyze the options.

Since I decided to undergo surgery, I will also share the information I studied~~~

Eye correction surgery is basically divided into LASIK and LASEK~

Do you all know the difference between LASIK and LASEK?

Both LASIK and LASEK are surgeries that use excimer laser to correct the cornea.

Excimer laser is a type of laser that corrects vision by burning corneal tissue.

LASEK is a surgery that corrects refractive errors of the eye using only an excimer laser after separating the corneal epithelium. In contrast, LASIK surgery involves creating a flap in the cornea, including the epithelium and stroma, with a corneal blade without separating the epithelium beforehand, prior to using the excimer laser for correction on the exposed stromal area of the cornea.

If you habitually rub your eyes, enjoy vigorous exercise, or work in a profession prone to external impacts, it is likely to be difficult to undergo LASIK surgery that creates a corneal flap.

These days, the popular Smile LASIK surgery.

Using a femtosecond laser instead of an excimer laser, while the excimer laser burns the corneal tissue, the femtosecond laser corrects vision through separation and incision of the corneal tissue. It is said that the corneal incision surface is more uniform and smoother compared to traditional LASIK surgery.

Additionally, because a corneal flap is not created, it is safer against impact, and the incision is reduced to one-tenth of that in LASIK, resulting in much less dry eye syndrome.

Laser vision correction surgery is a procedure that corrects the cornea, so if a patient's cornea is thin or their vision is very poor and requires significant correction, they may undergo lens implant surgery instead of laser correction to protect the cornea.

The insertion of corrective lenses is not a surgery that corrects the cornea, but a method of inserting lenses into a small space at the back of the eye to improve vision. Since it does not damage the surface of the cornea, it is recommended for patients with high myopia, thin corneas, or genetic conditions affecting the corneal surface.

For LASIK surgery, the procedure takes about 10 minutes, and patients can go home immediately after the medical staff's post-operative check.

LASIK takes about 15 minutes because it involves creating a corneal flap, and after the surgery is completed, patients spend approximately 30 minutes in the recovery room to check the attachment of the corneal flap before going home.

Since there is no discomfort immediately after surgery, you can go home without a guardian; however, because you may be sensitive to sunlight after the surgery, wearing sunglasses is recommended.

The degree of vision after surgery varies depending on each individual's visual ability...

Recovery from vision correction surgery can take up to six months, and the recovery period may vary depending on the surgical method. LASIK often reaches maximum vision after about two weeks, while LASEK typically takes longer for epithelial recovery, allowing for clearer vision sooner. However, LASEK is more vulnerable to external shocks compared to LASIK, so caution is needed for the first month after surgery.

In the past, there were many cases of eye pain after surgery, but now, with improvements in surgical equipment and advancements in surgical techniques, pain is almost nonexistent or lasts only about 1 to 2 days.

Surgical side effects...

The most common side effect is dry eyes!!

There are differences in dryness depending on the surgical method, but after surgery, initial dryness occurs due to the corrected corneal surface and the wound at the surgical site, and dry eye syndrome may be more severe in LASIK.

These days, eye drops are readily available, so there are no major inconveniences.

Light glare

In the past, many people complained of glare and especially experienced discomfort while driving at night, but this has been greatly improved through the development of surgical laser equipment, which minimizes scars on the corneal surface for smoother healing.

Degeneration causing vision to worsen again

Changes in corneal shape and thickness after correction cause a decline in vision as the refractive state differs from immediately after surgery; the decision for reoperation depends on the residual corneal thickness and condition.

Preoperative and postoperative precautions

Before testing and surgery, soft lenses should not be worn for at least 7 days, hard lenses for about 2 weeks, and dream lenses for about a month to ensure accurate testing and surgery. Abstinence from lenses is mandatory from the day before surgery until the recovery period!!!

On the day of surgery, regularly apply eye drops to prevent dryness, avoid rubbing or closing the eyes excessively during the recovery period, and take breaks from activities that cause dry eyes, such as reading and computer work, to help restore vision.

Still, after studying a bit, I realized that the technology has advanced remarkably compared to when I first learned about LASIK and LASEK, resulting in shorter surgery times, quicker recovery, and fewer side effects.

It seems like my phobias are disappearing a lot...

That's right, life is short~~ In this era of dazzling medical advancements, there's no reason to live uncomfortably.

I will seriously consider it and try to make a decision~~~
