Review of treating stomatitis through immune-boosting supplements and healthy lifestyle habits
A few years ago, right after surgery, I developed oral mucosal white patches known as stomatitis. At first, I thought it was just bacterial growth in the mouth and focused only on oral hygiene, but I learned that stomatitis can also occur when nutrition is lacking or immunity is weakened. Therefore, I strengthened my immune system by taking various nutritional supplements and paid attention to my lifestyle habits to treat the stomatitis.
First, I took a nutritional supplement that helps prevent stomatitis and suppress harmful bacteria in the mouth to treat stomatitis. I found that a supplement called Bantys, made in Japan, is effective for treating stomatitis, so I obtained and took it. Bantys contains main ingredients such as Lactobacillus, which reduces cavity-causing bacteria, and Mastic powder, which has anti-plaque effects and boosts immunity, making it the supplement I was looking for. It also contains xylitol, which helps prevent cavities, and taking it consistently greatly aided in the treatment of stomatitis.
Secondly, for the treatment of stomatitis, a balanced diet and proper nutrition are important, so I took supplements for vitamins B12, iron, and folate, which are difficult to fully obtain through diet alone. Among the supplements, there is a GNC complex vitamin B formula that contains both B vitamins and folate, and I took it consistently. I believe that this helped eliminate the fatigue caused by weakened immunity and was beneficial for treating stomatitis.
Third, I also took omega-3 fatty acids to treat stomatitis. Omega-3 fatty acids have strong anti-inflammatory effects and are said to be very helpful in reducing inflammation symptoms related to stomatitis. The balance of plant-based flaxseed oil, which contains linolenic acid, is a plant-based omega-3, and I chose it because it is 100% Canadian flaxseed oil with good ingredients. Fourth, to treat stomatitis, I made sure to sleep at least 6 hours even when busy, and whenever I felt tired, I would rest immediately to try to reduce stress.
