How do you motivate yourself when you need to maintain a healthy mind?

We need to be in a motivated state to feel passion and to move forward.

Lately, I find myself thinking about this a lot... Should I say my self-esteem is gradually decreasing?

I often have such thoughts.

I believe that motivation is really important to create a healthy mind through the strong power within me.

I brought some helpful tips for when it's difficult to maintain self-motivation.

 

Four tips for better self-motivation

1. Strengthening self-esteem

Self-motivation is also related to self-esteem. In other words, valuing and respecting oneself, and in order to improve one's abilities, it is important not only to recognize personal achievements and experiences but also to accept difficulties and acknowledge that oneself is imperfect.

Through this, you can believe in your abilities and take action. The best starting point to build self-esteem so that you believe you are happy and worthy of success is self-care.

Getting enough rest, eating well, finding a balance between leisure and work, and learning how to set boundaries are some examples.

 

2. How to maintain a healthy balance between optimism and reality

To maintain motivation, one must consider that self-determination and actions bring them closer to their goals. Of course, they may not be completely satisfied with the results.

You must have confidence that you can look positively at the future and achieve your goals. Of course, even if you identify obstacles and accept difficulties, you should not be overwhelmed by negative thoughts.

On the other hand, motivation cannot rely on illusions or naive optimism based on the belief that "things will go well." As the saying goes, "You create your own luck," ultimately, taking action is necessary to seize opportunities.

In addition to confidence, you also need to learn how to endure frustration. Avoid overly difficult or unattainable goals and choose realistic ones.

 

3. Studying one's own knowledge

Knowing oneself is also important for developing self-motivation. Understanding what motivates you helps to set the direction of your efforts and identify ways to achieve it on a personal level.

A study published in the 'Annual Review of Psychology' states that self-reflection is key to developing self-knowledge. In particular, it helps not only in constructing meaningful personal narratives but also in objectively viewing oneself and observing one's actions.

 

4. Learning how to organize

Relying on order and not setting priorities for self-motivation can lead to feeling overwhelmed by the sense that nothing is under control.

Therefore, you can set what you truly want to achieve. Then, break the goal down into smaller, more manageable units.

For example, if you want to do well on an English test, you need to identify how much time is left before the exam, the necessary tools, and the scope of the test.

In this process, you need to find the most suitable means of organization, which may mean maintaining all schedules and everything that suits you.

Small, achievable, and specific goals serve as daily motivation "medication." Lastly, patience is also very important for self-motivation.

The underlying cause of self-motivation is said to be loss of motivation.

Focus on your emotions and listen to your inner story.

Then, it is said that it can bring about positive change.

I will also try to make an effort.
