The 떡볶이 factory has recently been featured on various broadcasts, attracting attention. The factory is currently very busy handling an influx of orders from overseas. Recently, it exported over 4,000 떡볶이 meal kits to Canada. The previous shipment sold out in just a week, prompting the company to accelerate additional production. Currently, exports are mainly focused on Canada, Australia, and Japan, and it is reported that they plan to enter the U.S. market in earnest starting next year. The expected sales for this year are approximately 3.5 billion won.

 

It is said that the beginning of this factory started from a simple love for tteokbokki. The two founders, who were former colleagues, operated a tteokbokki street stall and developed a sauce that could be flavored without artificial seasonings. They then officially entered the tteokbokki manufacturing industry, and now they have grown to the point of receiving love calls from countries around the world.

 

Meanwhile, a representative example of the global spread of tteokbokki is the official inclusion of the word 'tteokbokki' in the Oxford English Dictionary in the UK in December of last year. The dictionary defines it as 'a Korean dish consisting of cylindrical rice cakes coated in a spicy sauce made from gochujang, usually served as a snack (often as street food).' This demonstrates the growing global interest in Korean cuisine.

 

 

There is a company that is experiencing a surge in 떡볶이 exports~ They say the order volume is gradually increasing.
