High cholesterol damaging the cardiovascular system... Worst eating habits vs good foods

High cholesterol damaging the cardiovascular system... Worst eating habits vs good foodsHyperlipidemia (dyslipidemia) refers to an abnormal level of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood. When triglycerides and cholesterol increase, atherosclerosis, which narrows the blood vessels, can occur. If it worsens, it can lead to cardiovascular diseases caused by blocked blood vessels. The main cause of dyslipidemia is largely due to poor eating habits. To maintain normal levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood, food intake must be controlled.

Risk factors that can be changed through lifestyle habits... diet, hypertension, smoking, stress

Dyslipidemia is a medical term that encompasses hyperlipidemia. It includes hypertriglyceridemia, which involves increased triglycerides, hypercholesterolemia with high low-density lipoprotein (LDL), as well as cases with low high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Excessive intake of animal fats, cholesterol, simple sugars, salt, and alcohol increases the risk. Hypertension, smoking, and stress, which constrict blood vessels, are also risk factors. All of these can be managed by changing lifestyle habits.

◇Eat rice and bread made from whole grains... Consuming beans and nuts appropriately contributes to blood health

Excessive consumption of bread, potatoes, and noodles can increase carbohydrates and calorie intake. It is better to eat in moderation. Dietary fiber found in whole grains and mixed grains has the effect of lowering blood lipids, so it is good to include them in daily meals. Legumes and nuts help reduce LDL cholesterol. However, since they also contain fats, overeating can lead to weight gain.

◇ Consume meat after removing the fat... eat fish and meat more frequently than other foods

Beef, pork, and chicken should mainly be consumed as lean meat. It is better to remove visible fat parts and peel the skin off the chicken. Processed meats such as ham, sausage, and bacon contain high levels of saturated fat and should be avoided. Fish also contains cholesterol, but has less saturated fat compared to meat. Therefore, it is better to eat fish more frequently than meat (Korean Lipid and Atherosclerosis Society data). The cholesterol content of shellfish or shrimp varies depending on the type. Shrimp and crayfish have high cholesterol but low saturated fat, so they can be eaten occasionally.

◇ Be cautious of overeating fruits that are high in sugar... choose low-fat milk and yogurt.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals. It is good to eat enough of them at every meal. However, if blood triglyceride levels are high, caution should be exercised when consuming fruits high in sugar. It is recommended to drink low-fat milk with less than 1% fat content. Eating yogurt made with non-fat or low-fat milk is also beneficial.

Sugary foods and excessive salt intake... bad for blood and blood vessels

It is better to use oils high in unsaturated fatty acids, such as olive oil. Be cautious when consuming processed foods like ramen, popcorn, certain baked goods, and processed foods that contain high amounts of saturated fats. Choose cooking methods that use less oil, such as steaming, grilling, or braising, instead of frying, stir-frying, or pan-frying. Sweets tend to contain high amounts of simple sugars and fats. It is advisable to avoid candies and chocolates. Also, avoid excessive use of salt and prepare dishes with less salt, as this is beneficial for blood and vascular health.

.......

I have been taking medication for hyperlipidemia for two months.

As a result of consistently following the diet, it returned to normal.

It's out.

While maps are important, consistent dietary therapy is also essential.

I think it might be the best treatment.
