Question - Does anyone know about amaloid disease?

My father has been diagnosed with a rare disease called amiloidosis.

It's a bit ambiguous to say that you've caught something, but you have developed an illness.

But since it's such a rare disease, I don't have anyone I know around me.

It's also tough because there's not much data.

Should I interpret this as meaning cancer?

They say there is no cure, but do you happen to know anyone around you who is suffering from this disease?
