I heard that postponing wisdom tooth extraction makes it harder, so I finally went to the hospital. I was really nervous at first, but the entire process from check-in to the appointment was so organized that I felt a bit more at ease. After the X-ray, I was told that my wisdom tooth was impacted, lying sideways in the gums, so extraction was necessary. The anesthesia shot was just a little sting, and after that, I hardly felt any pain. The extraction process ended up being quicker than I expected, and the doctor explained what was happening throughout, which eased my anxiety. There was some pressure because the root was deep, but it was manageable. After the extraction, I bit down on some gauze to stop the bleeding, and I received detailed aftercare instructions. They especially emphasized not using straws, avoiding hot foods, and not putting too much force when swallowing saliva. After returning home, as the anesthesia wore off, I had some mild pain and swelling, but taking the prescribed medication on time kept it from being too difficult. Applying ice gradually reduced the swelling, and after about two days, I was able to go back to my normal life. By the time the stitches were removed a week later, I definitely felt much more comfortable in my mouth. Overall, it was an experience that went smoother than I initially feared, and I realized how important it is not to delay treatment.
