Sharing diagnosis criteria and treatment experiences for bipolar disorder
Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings.
I want to share my treatment experience based on the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder and my personal experience.
Bipolar disorder is a really!! important illness that requires early diagnosis and proper treatment.
First, bipolar disorder is primarily diagnosed based on two main symptoms.
First, in a manic state, symptoms such as excessively happy or excited mood, hyperactivity, and excessive self-esteem appear.
Secondly, in a depressive state, symptoms such as unbearable sadness, lethargy, and decreased concentration appear.
These two conditions recur periodically and significantly interfere with daily life.
Initially, I thought these mood swings were simply due to stress or fatigue, but I realized the condition was too serious and visited a hospital, where I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder...
After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I started combining medication treatment with psychotherapy.
Medication treatment mainly involves taking sedatives. The medication helps significantly in controlling sudden mood swings. Of course, since these are psychiatric drugs, misuse can cause side effects, so I was initially worried, but by taking them consistently according to the psychiatrist's instructions, I managed the side effects.
This is Alprazolam, a sedative used for emotional regulation if you still cannot control your emotions.
Additionally, I learned how to accept and regulate my emotions through psychotherapy. The support from my family and friends was truly a great help during this process. Thanks to the help from those around me, the effectiveness of the treatment was even better.
Bipolar disorder is difficult to cure. However... with consistent treatment and support, symptoms can be managed, allowing for a normal life.
I hope that sharing my experience can be of some help to those who are going through similar difficulties with bipolar disorder.
