Sharing the self-treatment and correction process for flat feet
I have flat feet from birth, so when I walk a lot, I feel a sharp pain all over my legs.
When I was young, flat foot correction wasn't as popular as it is now, so I started taking care of it after becoming an adult.
Although I could have flat feet treated at a hospital or a specialized care shop, I decided to try treating and correcting flat feet myself first.
First of all, the cost was expensive, and I wanted to try it on my own.
Anyone who looks at the condition of my feet can tell that they are flat feet.
Flat feet have almost no arch, so if you walk a lot, your feet are bound to hurt.
As a result, when you walk, you put strength into your feet and calves, which can easily cause swelling in your calves.
Then you start to feel muscle pain in your calves and that pain spreads up to your thighs.
So, if you recognize that you have flat feet, flat feet treatment is essential.
If you think, "I was born this way, so I'll just live with it," the pain will never go away. To make it even slightly better, you need treatment, correction, and exercise.
In severe cases, surgery may be used as a last resort for flat feet treatment, but it is best to improve the condition through non-surgical flat feet treatment and correction without surgery as much as possible.
So the first thing I started with was Self-treatment of flat feet
1) Arch band
These are arch bands that are easily available online. I wear them all the time when I'm barefoot.
This is not a typical large band, but a cushion-shaped band with a convex center that acts as a cushion for flat feet without arches.
2) Insoles specifically for flat feet
The insole isn't custom-made for your feet, but is cut to fit the shape of your foot. Just put it in like this when you wear sneakers.
3) Start Pilates exercise
I've only been exercising by running and doing home workouts, but these days it's so hot and I have flat feet, so I can't walk for more than an hour.
So I started working out and doing Pilates.
Although it is a bit difficult to do both at the same time, there are many movements in Pilates that are helpful in treating flat feet.
Pilates itself is an exercise that balances the body, so it strengthens the arches of the feet and ankles.
I also learned from scratch how to use my feet correctly when walking.
When you learn Pilates... you realize that your posture is worse than you thought and that you walk with the wrong posture.
(The socks are a bit funny, but they are non-slip athletic socks)
This exercise involves placing a ball between your ankles and lifting and lowering your heels. It strengthens the muscles in your ankles, soles, and arches.
I think it would be good for people who don't have flat feet to do this too.
4) Functional corrective shoes
For those with flat feet like me or those with plantar fasciitis or other foot-related conditions, shoes are really important.
You should definitely wear functional shoes that protect the arch and ball of the foot rather than regular shoes.
I recommend that you don't just look at the product on screen online, but try it on in an offline store before purchasing.
5) Foot bath
And finally, the finishing touch is a foot bath.
These days, there are dry ones, but I like to use warm water, so I use a wet one.
Even though foot baths may not seem like much, they are a really refreshing ending.
In particular, if you use a foot bath with a ball massage function, it will definitely improve blood circulation and relieve foot fatigue.
Currently, I am doing these five methods of flat foot treatment, correction, and care on my own.
Since I'm doing it alone, I don't know when it will work, but it's better than not doing it, right?
I really hope that things will get better so that I can write a review later about the improvement in my flat feet.
