(Exercise) 10. What is protein? Symptoms of protein deficiency

Symptoms that appear when the body lacks protein

1. I used to live without knowing what protein actually is.

2. With economic development, food has become more abundant, and remarkable advances in medicine have significantly increased interest in living a long and healthy life.

3. Propose solutions and alternatives by connecting proteins and health from various perspectives.

What exactly is this thing called protein?

The origin is based on the egg (蛋), white (白), and quality (質).

6. It is explained by the properties of the white of the turbulent (algal) egg.

It is said to originate from ancient Greek Protos or Proteios, and its meaning also carries the sense of 'first person' or 'most important.'

8. It reveals the high level of knowledge and insight of our ancestors who, in times when scientific analysis and elucidation were impossible like in modern times, understood the functions of proteins in the body.

9. Friedrich Engels, who co-founded the theory of communism with Karl Marx, also stated that "life is the form of existence of proteins," which indicates that the core role and function of proteins in living organisms are considered to be very significant.

What is life?

11. It is a system that replicates itself.

12. With the discovery of the self-replicating molecule called DNA, we defined life in that way.

13. The genetic information is preserved within the DNA molecule, and replication is the essence of life.

If replication is not possible, living organisms lose their functions.

15. It is imminent death. Proteins are what reveal its essence.

16. If protein is lacking

  1.
  2. 1. The ability to replicate life decreases.
  3. In other words, DNA replication and activity decrease.
  4. It is temporary when young, but it increases sharply as one ages into old age.
  5. Replication decreases, so muscle cells gradually diminish.
  6. When the body's condition is significantly deteriorated, it feels the same.
  7. Insufficient protein intake or prolonged duration.
  8. Can see.
  9. Red meat or eggs, preferably with the white (animal fat) removed
  10. It is advisable to consume small amounts of legumes, nuts, and similar foods with each meal. Turning these foods into powders for convenient preservation, portability, and transportation can also be an alternative option.

2. Feelings of depression and fatigue persist.

Hormones that regulate our body are also made up of proteins.

When hormone production, secretion, or activity decreases

Brain function declines, leading to easy fatigue and a tendency toward relatively depressive emotions.

3. Skin health is poor.

Collagen, an amino acid commonly seen in cosmetic advertisements

Cysteine, elastin, and other components that make up proteins, when consumed in sufficient amounts, help enrich muscles, dermis, skin, nails, toenails, and hair.

4. No matter how much you exercise, it is difficult to keep muscles firm and maintain their volume. Muscles are made up of proteins. If protein intake is insufficient, not only does the volume of the muscles decrease, but their elasticity also diminishes.

5. The immune system is weakened, making infections relatively easy.

Immune cells are also made up of proteins, and if they are deficient, their ability to block bacteria and viruses from outside decreases, increasing the likelihood of progressing to diseases and illnesses.
