Heatstroke to watch out for in summer... If you suspect it, go to the shade immediately and rest.

"It's so hot that you're not sweating?"... Watch out for these 3 signs in the sun!

The heatwave continues. In this kind of hot weather, one thing to be concerned about is heat-related illnesses.

Heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion, heat stroke, heat cramps, and heat fainting occur as a result of increased body temperature due to prolonged heatwaves during the summer.

Among them, heat exhaustion occurs when exposed to high-temperature environments, causing core body temperature to rise between 37°C and 40°C, while maintaining adequate cardiac output, but without central nervous system abnormalities.

Dr. Karan Raji, a UK NHS doctor who regularly shares essential health information through the video platform TikTok, shared the three main signs of heatstroke to watch out for during hot weather, which was reported by the British daily The Mirror.

Dr. Raji said

The first sign is feeling as if your body is melting in the heat, but in reality, you don't sweat at all.

He explained, "Severe dehydration causes the body's natural cooling process to stop," and added, "If not cooled quickly, the body temperature will continue to rise."

☆There may be some slight confusion the second time.

There is.

Heatstroke occurs when dehydration leads to a lack of body fluids, resulting in symptoms such as weakness and confusion.

In cases of slight mental confusion like this, resting in a cool place for about 30 minutes can help recovery.

☆Finally, it is muscle cramps.

Dr. Raji said that dehydration can cause serious changes in electrolytes, which can lead to muscle weakness or cramps.

Heat exhaustion improves within 30 minutes to an hour with adequate rest and electrolyte drinks in a cool environment, but

If left untreated, it can develop into heatstroke, which can be life-threatening.

☆ Therefore, in cases where heatstroke is suspected, all activities should be immediately stopped and the person should be moved to a cool place.

If you have a wet towel or cold water, lower the body temperature, and if you are wearing thick clothes, it is better to remove them.

☆ Elevate your legs higher than your head and lie down properly.

If the consciousness is clear and the pulse is stable, have the person rest and then drink water or an electrolyte beverage.

If you experience nausea or vomiting, do not force yourself to drink; instead, intravenous injections should be administered to replenish fluids.

☆Make sure to drink plenty of water when in a hot environment.

Avoid wearing clothes that are too tight, and if possible, refrain from activities during the daytime in summer.

In particular, children, the elderly, and people with underlying health conditions are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, so caution is advised.
