Three foods good for a sore throat and cold
Black bellflower root and ginger. It also contains various ingredients including the stomach.
It's also good for preventing colds.
I am consistently taking care of it together with my husband.
It's convenient because it's in stick form.
1. Ginger
Ginger has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that help alleviate sore throat symptoms. This is because it has a sterilizing effect against pathogenic bacteria that cause colds. Additionally, ginger has a soothing effect on the throat and helps relax the bronchi. In particular, it is highly effective in suppressing coughs and phlegm.
To soothe sore throat and cough, staying hydrated is important. Therefore, while using ginger in food is an option, it is preferable to consume ginger as tea. When drinking ginger tea, caution should be exercised regarding sugar intake. Commercially available ginger teas often contain a lot of sugar to mask the spiciness of ginger.
2. Stomach
Banana is known to be effective in relieving chronic cough and phlegm, and it helps to reduce body heat. The luteolin component in banana has anti-inflammatory effects that aid in alleviating cold symptoms such as bronchitis, cough, and phlegm. It is also effective when steamed together with doraji (bellflower root). Doraji also has antibacterial and antipyretic properties, making it effective in alleviating sore throat and cold symptoms.
Pear and bellflower root decoction requires cleaning with baking soda because the broth comes out of the pear peel. After cutting off the top of the pear, scoop out the seeds with a spoon and fill the inside with pear and bellflower root. Add honey as well, then close the lid and steam in a steamer for about 40 minutes.
3. Seaweed
Seaweed contains a large amount of zinc, which helps alleviate sore throat symptoms. Zinc strengthens the immune system against cold viruses, protecting the throat and pharynx and enhancing recovery. Additionally, zinc has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce pain caused by inflammation.
In particular, consuming warm seaweed soup is helpful, and maintaining an appropriate temperature is important. Foods or drinks that are too hot can actually irritate the throat and worsen symptoms.
