저도 내성발톱이 생겨서 걷기도 힘들었는데 지금은 많이 좋아졌어요 수술은 무서워서 발톱깎을 때 바짝 안 깎고 보습제 잘 바르고 있어요
Introduction to the treatment, surgery, and correction management review of 'Ingrown Toenails'
I am leaving this review for those who, like me, are suffering from ingrown toenails. Ingrown toenails have no complete cure and require lifelong management. In particular, narrow shoes that cause toe discomfort or put pressure on the big toe should be avoided. Whether at a hospital or a nail salon, ingrown toenails should not be considered fully cured after a single treatment; instead, regular treatments or self-care methods should be attempted, as it is a condition that requires ongoing attention.
I have had ingrown toenails since middle school, and while living without major issues, one day I pinched the skin slightly, causing a severe inflammation, which made me decide to visit the hospital. The ingrown toenail surgery took only five minutes, and although the anesthesia injection was painful, considering the pain I had endured from the ingrown toenail so far, it was bearable.
I visited a nail salon recommended by an acquaintance afterward to get a correction. First, they carefully trimmed the toenails and then forcibly removed the nail. There was a tool with a small bullet-shaped end, which they inserted into the side of the problematic nail and used leverage to forcibly straighten the inward-curving part. People like me who cut their nails short and have inflammation may feel some pain at this stage. After forcibly straightening it, they insert something cotton-like inside to fix it in place and then trim the end. I had a pointed part remaining at the end, which was more painful, but when they cut that part off completely, it felt refreshing. Then they apply plastic, but the downside is that it can fall off during daily activities. To prevent this, the nail salon covers it with resin over the plastic and the entire nail.
In the case of hospitals, if you have severe ingrown toenail inflammation like me, it is essential to visit. Some people go to nail salons, but since they are not hospitals, they cannot perform anesthesia and have limitations in dressing. However, hospitals can perform partial excision, but the toenail may grow back on the side, leading to recurrence. To prevent the nail from digging in as it grows back, it is necessary to get correction at a nail salon or perform self-treatment correction. Ingrown toenail treatment is more effective at a nail salon if the issue is not inflammation but simply because the toenail is very curved and painful.
