Sharing five experiences after a diagnosis of cystitis
After experiencing cystitis for the first time, it tends to recur frequently. Consistent management to prevent recurrence is important. I will briefly share treatment and management methods.
First. What are the symptoms of cystitis?
Due to the nature of my job, I couldn't go to the bathroom often, and when I first had a bladder infection, I experienced sharp pain and a feeling of residual urine when urinating, along with severe lower abdominal pain, so I visited the gynecology clinic.
Second. What is the diagnosis of cystitis?
Usually, diagnosis is made through a urinalysis, but in my case, I had bacteria and hematuria in my urine, so I was diagnosed with cystitis.
Third. What is the treatment for cystitis?
Cystitis is treated with antibiotic injections and oral antibiotics. I received the injection and was prescribed medication for about three days, which I completed. It is important not to stop the medication halfway or discontinue it, and to take it until the end. This is because if cystitis is not properly treated, there is a risk of developing pyelonephritis.
Fourth. What is my personal management method after a diagnosis of cystitis?
First, take all the prescribed medication and drink more than 1.5 liters of water daily to flush out the bladder inflammation. Then, drink cranberry juice; initially, I didn't know the proper amount and drank it, but I found out that the recommended daily intake is 120 to 300 ml, 1 to 3 times a day. You should find the right amount for yourself and drink an appropriate quantity. For me, one cup a day is just right, so I adjust accordingly. I recommend two types of juice: Lingrass Cranberry and Ocean Spray. Lingrass has a thicker texture, while Ocean Spray feels lighter, so try them according to your preference.
Fifth. Above all, managing stress and immunity is important. Although it is the most difficult method, if you experience a lot of stress or your immunity drops, the condition will inevitably recur, so it is very important.
