Review of a visit to a urologist for cystitis treatment
I've had cystitis several times, and each time, I've only ever gone to a gynecologist for treatment. But this time, the symptoms were different, so I went to a urologist for treatment. I'm sharing my experience with the cystitis treatment.
This cystitis was different than usual. When I woke up in the morning and went to my first urination, I felt a sharp stinging sensation that spread to my shoulder. After that, I felt like I was constantly leaking urine and had the urge to go, so I was thinking of going to a gynecologist for cystitis treatment. However, it was a bit far from my house, so I went to a urologist right next door. It was my first time at a urology clinic, so I was a bit confused. All the doctors were men, and there were a lot of patients, so I had to wait a bit. After explaining the symptoms during the consultation, the doctor suggested a urine test, which I did. If a lot of bacteria is detected in the urine, treatment for cystitis is necessary. While saying that, He told me to take strong antibiotics. I took antibiotics for cystitis for 3 days and was told to take a urine test again, so I took the medicine without fail and came back for a urine test. It was definitely better. However, the antibiotics I took for cystitis were strong, so my bowel movements were a bit slow and my stools were loose. So I told my doctor about the discomfort and since the urine test results had improved, he said not to take any more medication. Instead, I got additional antibiotics as an emergency medication just in case. Fortunately, the symptoms did not recur after that, so I did not have to take any additional medication.
I went to both an obstetrics and gynecology department and a urology department to treat cystitis. The obstetrics and gynecology department did two tests, a urine test and an ultrasound. Urology They just test your urine and prescribe medication right away. It was simpler and bladder-related diseases were a bit more specialized. I felt that way. From now on, I plan to continue going to the urology department for treatment.
