A review of treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia through helpful foods and lifestyle changes.
As I got older, I also developed symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I experienced frequent urination, sudden urges to urinate, and residual urine that didn't flow well. When I went to the hospital, they diagnosed it as age-related BPH and prescribed alpha-blocker medication. However, after taking it, I noticed side effects, so I began taking nutritional supplements and foods specifically designed to help with BPH.
I gradually gained weight due to my irregular lifestyle, and I also enjoy drinking, which I believe accelerated the progression of my BPH. So, I've made various efforts to treat it.
First, to treat my BPH, I was careful not to hold my urine for too long. I also avoided excessive alcohol consumption and strong stimulants like tea and coffee, as these increase urine output. Furthermore, to treat my BPH, I tried to avoid drinking too much water late at night, as drinking water before bed can lead to nocturia.
Second, to treat my BPH, I maintained a regular lifestyle, got plenty of rest, and tried not to sit too long. Also, among the fruits and vegetables I consumed, I ate tomatoes almost every day. The licphenols and beta-carotene in tomatoes have antioxidant properties and are said to help with BPH.
Third, I took nutritional supplements to treat my BPH. Among the various supplements, I took Yonsei Doctor Saw Palmetto Octacosanol and Humancore Saw Palmetto Octacosanol Lycopene. These supplements are packed with ingredients beneficial to men's health, such as saw palmetto berry extract and tomato extract, and I believe they helped treat my BPH.
