I'm considering removing the tear trough under my eye.

It wasn't there when the eldest was young, but after passing 6-7 years old.

The spot below my left eye has become darker.

It has become what adults commonly refer to as a tear duct.

 

I'm fine, but my mom has tear duct issues.

They are telling me to go quickly and have it removed with a laser.

The son heard that the laser hurts and insisted that he absolutely wouldn't get it removed.

 

My 4th-grade mischievous son. The black spot below his left eye, behind his glasses, is very noticeable.

Should I just let the child grow up and choose for themselves?

I'm not sure if it's better to persuade the child to remove it now rather than removing it when it gets bigger.

 

Since it seems unlikely to be completely removed with just one laser treatment, if the child has to endure painful discomfort several times, wouldn't it be better to wait until they are older and able to tolerate it on their own?
