I thought my 6th-grade son's sole was a corn, but after visiting a family medicine doctor, I was told it was a wart. They advised us to go to dermatology for cryotherapy or laser treatment. I was surprised to learn that warts can also develop on the soles of the feet. I naturally thought it was a corn.
