Question) Why does my daughter's ear have discharge and develop atopic dermatitis?
Hello...
Please take a look at my daughter's ear.
I am currently 3 years old and I have no place to get information while raising my child, so I am asking.
I'm curious why only that area keeps bothering me even though it hasn't been diagnosed as atopic dermatitis by the dermatologist.
My ears started to develop atopic dermatitis from some day, but when I was a newborn, it was very mild.
It just seemed dry, with a slight presence of white flakes.
However, gradually that part always stays folded, so I wonder if it's because of the skin or something else, and that area keeps cracking, leading to the development of atopic dermatitis.
Oh, I didn't think about it that much back then...ㅠ
I guess I should have thought biggerㅠ
Why is that?
When I was a baby, I just thought it was because of dryness and didn't pay much attention, just applying ointment occasionally and it would get better. But if I don't pay attention for a while, it gets red like that, and it stresses me out.
Everything else is fine, but that part feels cracked and dry. Does atopic dermatitis usually start there if it's severe?
When I was a newborn, I actually felt that the lower part of the earlobe was slightly different... I felt that the area below the earlobe was slightly cracked. But then, one day, that area gradually widened, turned red, and eventually I received a call from the daycare saying it was pus-filledㅠㅠ
I was surprised to see water flowing continuously as if an inflammation had burst open... I was shockedㅠ
My child is also sick, and then they started scratchingㅠ
From my mother's perspective, she wants me to get better quickly...
How should I take care of it?
Is it possible that I have a constitution prone to skin diseases?
Are there any people who have these kinds of worries?ㅜ
Actually, I've never had severe atopic dermatitis myself... The most I've experienced is slight dryness on my arm that improves with lotion... If that area is a part that folds easily, can atopic dermatitis occur there?ㅠ
My biggest concern in life is not so much my health, but rather if something is slightly wrong with my child, I worry immensely... Even if I go to a dermatologist for treatment, I feel like it might not really go away, which makes me anxious... If anyone else has similar worries, I would appreciate it if you could share.
Which lotion is good to use? How often should I apply the medication to heal completely?ㅠㅜ
Will steroid ointments be effective?
