As a result, the skin becomes rougher, and the balance of oil and moisture is disrupted, which can accelerate aging.
Intense autumn UV rays can also contribute to the development of dark spots and skin aging. How can we keep our skin healthy during the fall season?
 

◇Apply a sealed moisture cream for firm hydration

 

The most important thing is moisturizing.

 

It is good to find a moisturizer that suits your skin type and apply it generously.

There is also a method of applying a 'sealed moisture cream' that keeps moisture from evaporating and remains on the skin. Vaseline, mineral oil, and silicone are representative moisture-sealing ingredients. If you do not feel moisture on your skin, a product containing both humectant ingredients and moisture-sealing ingredients is recommended. Humectants like glycerin help prevent damage to the lipid barrier between keratinocytes,

 

Enhance the function of the skin barrier. Ceramides also help because they are one of the components that make up the lipids between keratinocytes. However, oily skin already has a lot of oil, so applying oil-based cosmetics can clog pores. Gel-type moisturizers without oil are suitable.


Eating foods that keep the skin moist is also good. Tomatoes are a prime example.

 

Tomatoes contain vitamin P, which helps strengthen blood vessel walls and ensures that nutrients are evenly delivered to the skin. They are also rich in vitamin H, which is abundant when deficient and helps prevent the formation of keratin and dandruff. Another major component of tomatoes, lycopene, protects the skin from ultraviolet rays. A study has shown that a group that consumed lycopene daily for 12 weeks had 30% higher skin defense compared to a group that did not.

 

It is also important to stay hydrated by drinking water frequently. Additionally, it is good to eat fruits rich in vitamin C, such as strawberries. Vitamin C prevents skin aging by eliminating free radicals that form when you are tired or stressed.

 

◇ Melasma management is also important... Laser treatment is effective for removal

 

Melasma is also a foe to autumn skin. In fall, the weather becomes cooler, and outdoor activities increase. However, the air is dry, and UV rays are also quite strong, which can lead to a simultaneous increase in melasma and dark spots. Just like in summer, it is important to carefully apply sunscreen. Additionally, since melasma can worsen when hormonal secretion is disrupted due to stress, it is essential to manage stress through proper rest and sleep.

 

Meanwhile, existing melasma and freckles from last summer are difficult to improve with whitening cosmetics. To definitively remove them, laser treatment is helpful. Since melasma is evenly distributed from the deep dermis to the epidermis, laser treatment is performed after diagnosing the depth and shape of the pigmentation. At this time, depending on the type of melasma, various laser toning methods such as normal toning, PTP (Pulse to Pulse) toning, gold toning, E-toning, Alex toner, and focus toning can be combined. To prevent the recurrence of melasma, treatments such as yellow laser, V-beam, and Sculptra, which constrict dilated blood vessels in the dermis, are also performed.
