Don't eat it, but give it to your skin?... The benefits of 'cucumber' for summer skin
Cucumbers are cheap and delicious these days, so I eat them often.
I guess I should also give some consideration to the skin, haha.
◆ Wrinkles and anti-aging effects under ultraviolet rays
I recommend a facial mask made by mixing half a cucumber in a dough-like form with two spoons of plain yogurt. After applying it to the skin, rinse off with warm water after about 15 minutes. Cucumbers contain two antioxidants, vitamin C and caffeic acid, which help prevent wrinkles and damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Yogurt helps remove dust and dead skin cells. When combined with cleansing cucumbers, it provides perfect hydration and soothing effects.
◆ Eye area skin swelling relief and soothing effect
Placing cucumber slices on sensitive skin around the eyes quickly produces a soothing effect. Cucumbers act like a small ice pack to calm swollen eyelids. They contain flavonoids and antioxidants that help alleviate symptoms when the skin is swollen, red, or inflamed. Additionally, cucumbers have a cooling effect that constricts dilated blood vessels, reducing puffiness around the eyes.
Excessive exposure to hot sunlight can cause sunburn (UV burn), resulting in redness and a burning sensation on the skin due to an inflammatory response. In particular, the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin can be severely affected. Cucumber contains abundant nutrients such as water, potassium, sulfate, and vitamins A and C, which help alleviate skin problems like sunburn. Applying cucumber slices to the affected areas of the face for at least 15 minutes can help soothe the skin.
