Skin whitening questions!

I understand that the reason for skin darkening is melanin pigment.

From what I found out, regular commercial whitening cosmetics are known to inhibit the production of melanin pigment rather than removing it.

Are there any cosmetics that remove already formed melanin pigments?

I'm wondering if I need to go to dermatology and have it removed with laser treatment haha
