There is one ENT specialist.
The hospital is very clean and the doctor is very kind.
The nursing assistants are just like that...
I was treated for otitis externa here for two months.
This was an unlucky case where the patient had no history of otitis externa, but after having his ear pierced once, he developed otitis externa right away.
I didn't clean my ears with a cotton swab or an earpick, but I think it was because my ears were itchy and I accidentally touched them with my hand.
At first it was itchy -> dead skin cells and scabs formed on the earlobe and inside the ear (at first I thought it was earwax and just peeled it off)
->If you keep peeling off the scab, a wound will form and pus will form ->The ear will become moist due to the pus ->The ear will become blocked
This dead skin cell looked incredibly dirty.
If it were normal otitis externa, I think it would probably progress like this.
I thought it was just earwax and removed the scabs and dead skin cells, but after cleaning them up, I had an optical illusion that my ears looked clean, so I didn't think it was otitis externa at first, but the dead skin cells gradually increased in quantity.
One time, I woke up and felt a stuffy, blocked feeling in my ear, as if water had filled it. I was so shocked that I went to the hospital right away.
When I went to the hospital, there were a lot of people, but the wait wasn't that long, so I waited for about 5 minutes and went straight into the director's office.
After the director checked with an otoscope, he said that my eardrum was fine, but that there were many wounds from otitis externa and that pus was coming out due to inflammation. He also said that there was yellow inflammation all over the skin in front of my eardrum.
So, first, I used suction to remove all the earwax, dead skin cells, crusts, and pus inside the ear.
I thought it would hurt, but it didn't hurt at all!
After the examination, I was prescribed antibiotics and ear drops.
But, otitis externa didn't get better as quickly as I thought.
I was taking medicine and putting drops in regularly, but hardened crusts kept coming out of my ears and my ears were extremely itchy.
So after I finished taking all the prescribed medication, I went back to the hospital again, and went back three more times in total.
Since the medication didn't seem to be working, I asked for a different prescription, and the director took a look at it and continued to change the medication while monitoring the condition of my ears.
And I thought that the dead skin cells on my ears would get better if I just left them alone, but he also taught me how to manage them.
After thoroughly disinfecting with hydrogen peroxide, I was told to apply antifungal ointment with a cotton swab. The director said that this was effective.
I used that method and the dead skin cells really disappeared completely...!
Actually, I was worried that I might have to go to another hospital because the medication wasn't working well, but after using the method the director showed me, the dead skin cells disappeared completely, so I decided to trust him and go to the hospital again.
And finally, after my third visit, my otitis externa was cured.
During my last visit, the director showed me pictures of my eardrums that he had taken.
The first time I went there.
Earwax, pus, and the white stuff are mold.
I was surprised to hear that it was a fungus, but it seems that fungus often accompanies otitis externa.
Second visit
Before/After Ear Cleaning
last.
Finally, the inside of my ear has become a clean red color!!
At first, he didn't show me the picture of my ear, but after it was completely healed, he showed it to me at the end, probably to compare the differences.
I was so grateful that the director was also happy that it was so clean.
I always felt that he was very thorough, and I was a bit worried because my otitis externa wasn't getting better quickly, but he told me that it wasn't serious and that I should take the medicine consistently, which made me trust him.
Now my ears are clean and free of dead skin cells and pus, so I'm feeling very comfortable.
It took a long time, but I recommend Yonsei ENT Clinic for perfect treatment.
