(Question) I'm worried because I can't get enough sleep.
Lately, I've been struggling with sleep, and I'm really struggling. My bedtime varies slightly from day to day, but I always wake up around 3 or 4 a.m., wide awake. Trying to get back to sleep, I toss and turn, and end up barely sleeping at all. I wasn't usually that sensitive, but at some point, I started waking up all the time and not being able to fall back into a deep sleep. This makes me incredibly tired all day, makes me hypersensitive without even realizing it, and throws my daily routine off track.
I actually used to take magnesium supplements for quite some time, but one day, I stopped because I didn't feel much benefit. It's been over a year now. I used to take them regularly because they were said to help with muscle relaxation and sleep, but since I've been away for so long, I'm starting to wonder if that's the effect, but on the other hand, I can't quite tell if it's not affecting anything at all, which is frustrating.
Anyone who's had a similar experience? What helped? I'm not sure if I need to change my sleeping habits or environment, if it's stress, or if there's another reason. Trying to force myself to sleep more seems to just make things worse... I'd like some advice on how to sleep soundly and avoid waking up in the middle of the night.
