I have been using reading glasses for ten years due to presbyopia. My vision is about 0.5, and I don't feel uncomfortable without corrective glasses, only using the magnifier when reading small print like newspapers. What I am curious about is that a friend who had cataract surgery told me that they didn't wear vision correction glasses after the surgery. They said their vision was restored after the cataract surgery. I wonder if cataract surgery actually restores vision to the point that one doesn't need to wear magnifying glasses. Can someone answer this? If so, I would also consider having cataract surgery...
