저도 살짝 내성발톱이긴한데...내성발톱심하시 분들은 진짜 고통스럽겠더라구요.ㅠ.ㅠ
Ingrown toenail treatment review
I am also going to share my experience of suffering from ingrown toenails.
At first, I thought it was nothing and ignored it. But one day, my toes gradually turned red, and every time I put on shoes, I started to feel a tingling, sharp pain. It also felt uncomfortable when I wore socks... My toes swelled up, and walking became difficult. You know, how bothersome that tingling, sharp pain can be...
Eventually, I realized I couldn't delay any longer, so I went to the hospital. Honestly, I was quite scared before going. I was worried about how painful the surgery might be, and I also wondered if my toenail could grow back beautifully.
When I entered the consultation room, the doctor kindly explained everything. After looking at my toenail condition, he said it was fortunate because it was in the early stage of digging into the flesh. Then I had surgery...ㅠㅠ
Local anesthesia is administered before surgery, and honestly, it was a bit painful when the injection was given.
The surgical procedure finished faster than I expected. It involved removing part of the ingrown toenail and treating it so it wouldn't grow back, which I think took about 15 minutes. The doctor disinfected my toe, wrapped it with a bandage, and said, "You'll feel better soon," and those words really comforted me.
After the surgery, my toes throbbed for about three days. However, it was much better compared to the sharp pain I felt when it was deeply affected. I used the antibiotics and disinfectants provided by the hospital carefully, and I was very cautious when washing my toes.
After about a week, the swelling went down and the pain almost disappeared.
Now, it is important to manage the new nails so that they do not dig in like before. As the hospital advised, I cut my nails straight across and am especially careful not to cut into the flesh beside the toes. I also avoid wearing tight shoes.
The best part after receiving treatment was being freed from the pain that had been bothering me all along! The discomfort and worry I felt when walking disappeared as if by magic. I can now wear socks comfortably and put on shoes freely.
May everyone walk comfortably with healthy toes!
