Ingrown toenail treatment review and experience
Hello
Would you like to hear about my experience and review of ingrown toenail treatment?
Wow, my ingrown toenail was really painful. At first, I thought it was just a minor discomfort, but it gradually worsened.
At first, wearing shoes was slightly uncomfortable and painful, but eventually it became so painful that walking was difficult.
At first, I didn't think it was a big deal. I thought, "Oh, if I just endure a little longer, it will get better." But gradually, the situation became more serious. The side of my toe turned red and swollen, and there was a slight bleeding. Just wearing shoes caused a slight stabbing pain.
Eventually, I went to the local orthopedic clinic. The doctor looked at me and said, "Your ingrown toenail has progressed severely." There were mainly two treatment options: one was conservative treatment, and the other was surgery.
Initially, I tried conservative treatment. I trimmed the toenail a bit, applied disinfectant around the nail, and was told the proper treatment method. I was advised to soak my foot in warm water every day and apply disinfectant. However, it didn't seem to be very effective. The pain gradually worsened, and the symptoms of inflammation also started to deteriorate.
In the end, I decided to have the surgery in two weeks. Two weeks is a long time to endure... for me, at least.
I was really scared. "Will it hurt after the surgery?" "How will I commute to and from work?" These thoughts kept me awake at night. On the day of the surgery, after anesthesia, it proceeded more quickly than I expected. The doctor removed part of my toenail and performed a procedure to remove the inflammation.
Immediately after the surgery, I experienced intense pain. Walking was very difficult. I couldn't walk properly for a few days. However, I gradually started to improve. They carefully changed the dressings as well.
I am now almost fully recovered. My toenails are growing back properly, and the pain has almost disappeared. The most important thing is to consult a specialist early and receive appropriate treatment. If you are experiencing similar symptoms, don't endure it too long—please visit the hospital quickly!
