The fever reducer I used to give the most when I was young
It was Buphen syrup, and it usually handled most fevers well.
It seems so. Let's look into the types of fever reducers.
Antipyretic classification
Pain relievers are mainly divided into antipyretics and analgesics containing acetaminophen as the main ingredient, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Among NSAIDs, the most representative ingredient is ibuprofen! Dextropropoxyphen is a compound derived from ibuprofen by isolating its active ingredient. Both ibuprofen and dextropropoxyphen have anti-inflammatory effects that reduce inflammation, and are classified as antipyretics, analgesics, and anti-inflammatory agents.
There are various other types as well, but the main three used as infant fever reducers are acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and dexibuprofen. Acetaminophen is well known as Tylenol and Champ syrup, ibuprofen as Bupofen syrup, and dexibuprofen as Maxbu Kids syrup. Before 6 months of age, only acetaminophen (Tylenol) can be administered, and after 6 months, both acetaminophen and ibuprofen (Bupofen) can be given.
Ibuprofen is the most representative ingredient of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, serving as a pain reliever, fever reducer, and anti-inflammatory agent. Unlike acetaminophen mentioned earlier, it also has the characteristic of reducing inflammation. When fever is caused by inflammation such as otitis media or tonsillitis, it is better to administer a Brufen-type medication rather than Tylenol.
Because of this effect, I often gave it in combination with Tylenol, but I think Bupren was also sufficient.
I recommend it.
