Neck pain! I was suffering greatly from symptoms of a herniated disc in my neck.

A tingling sensation around the back of my neck! I visited the hospital.

I was diagnosed with a herniated cervical disc.

What I can do is change my lifestyle habits and do stretching, and I've been consistently doing it, so I've seen some improvement.

Neck pain! I was suffering greatly from symptoms of a herniated disc in my neck.

I have some back problems, but I keep feeling a dull ache and a tingling sensation like an electric shock around the back of my neck, as if I have a cervical disc issue.

It's just like people saying "Ah~ my shoulders are stiff~" while shrugging their shoulders and turning their necks.

I thought my pain level was probably similar, that it wasn't a herniated disc, that I would be okay, so I tried to ignore it and live my life.

There was a moment when I thought, "This might not work."

I started practicing yoga again because I was busy, and right at the beginning, during the warm-up move, I turned my neck in a circle.

It hurts in the right back of my neck, to the point where I hear a cracking sound, suspecting a cervical disc herniation.

Moreover, when I do neck stretches and pass by that area, my right arm also feels weak and limp.

I could really feel the sensation of numbness setting in.

I thought this was unusual and suspected a cervical disc problem, so I went to the hospital immediately.

What the hospital is saying isn't that serious, so it's not necessary to have surgery separately.

I suggested changing our lifestyle habits.

There were several things I did.

I would like to tell you about a few of the most consistent and relatively effective ones.

Good habits to prevent cervical disc herniation

Neck pain! I was suffering greatly from symptoms of a herniated disc in my neck.

First, stretching.

Without any fuss, what I usually do is stretch one arm like in the picture and gently press my head with the opposite hand.

The key point is that you should never apply force; it just feels like your head is being pressed down by the weight of my hand.

Next, repeat lifting and lowering your shoulders while extending your hand in this position.

You can do both sides, but I did it again on the painful side.

If you have free time, it is also good to straighten your posture and slowly move your head side to side as much as possible. The key point is to do it without applying force and only as much as possible.

Changing the pillow for the second time.

I immediately replaced the high pillow I was using because it could worsen my cervical disc problem.

I changed to a moderately soft, low pillow.

And if you happen to sleep on your side, make sure to switch sides alternately.

Finally, the third one is massage.

First, rub both hands together to generate heat in your palms.

Then, bring that hand to the back of your neck and gently massage it.

If you have time, it would be even better to also relax the trapezius muscles!

The method is simple, but if you do it consistently, you'll see better results than you think.

In my case, it only occasionally feels a tingling sensation.

Thinking back to the times when I couldn't sleep and was tossing and turning, I've really improved a lot.

Everyone, when you suspect a cervical disc herniation, please follow these steps carefully.
