About six months ago, I started feeling strangely stiff joints, especially in my lower back and shoulders, which felt hard and lacked flexibility. As these symptoms gradually worsened, about two or three months ago, I found it difficult to get out of bed in the morning, and even bending my back or walking became challenging. I looked up information online and it seemed like early symptoms of a herniated disc. I thought this was serious, so I started managing it by doing stretching, walking exercises, and taking supplements. Now, my condition has improved significantly from the severe state two or three months ago, to the point where I have no problem bending my back or walking. A herniated disc is said to be caused by poor lifestyle habits, posture, and lack of exercise, which put strain on the spine. Especially, sitting in the same position for long periods, lifting heavy objects with improper posture, or maintaining a turtle neck posture can disrupt spinal balance and lead to a herniated disc. In my case, the symptoms such as dull pain in the lower back, pain when sitting down and standing up, and stiffness in the morning suggest that I am in the early or prodromal stage of a herniated disc. To prevent the symptoms from worsening, I decided to incorporate stretching and exercise into my daily routine. I found stretching methods that are said to be good for herniated discs and did them for 20-30 minutes every morning upon waking and before going to bed.

And for herniated discs, excessive exercise can actually worsen the symptoms, so I did light walking for 30 minutes to an hour every day.

And when I was working at the company, I would get up occasionally during work to do waist rotation exercises. I also felt a bit uneasy with just stretching and exercise, so I looked for medications or supplements that might be good for a herniated disc and purchased and took a supplement called Optimum MSM 2000. MSM is said to be a supplement that helps with the health of all joints and cartilage in the body, including the waist.

After taking joint supplements for two or three months, continuously stretching and walking, my herniated disc pain has gradually eased. At first, it was difficult to even bend my waist and take a few steps, but now that has almost disappeared. However, I still feel slight pain when I suddenly stand up or lie down and twist my waist. But since the initial symptoms of my herniated disc have improved this much, I plan to continue diligent management to prevent the condition from worsening.
