Sharing my experience of visiting the hospital and receiving treatment for early symptoms of CRPS
A few years ago, I experienced symptoms of CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome). I received initial treatment for CRPS at that time, and I would like to share my experience related to it. I hope this can be of some help to those suffering from CRPS-related conditions.
CRPS is a complex regional pain syndrome, a rare disease characterized by abnormal reflex sympathetic activity, often causing severe pain and swelling in the limbs, and in severe cases, affecting the entire body.
As the name "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome" suggests, it is a difficult disease to understand the cause of and does not have a clear treatment. I injured my ligament in a minor accident, and even though enough time had passed since the injury, the pain continued. Several tests were conducted at an orthopedic clinic, but the results came back normal, yet my pain gradually worsened. Then I remembered seeing CRPS through the media, which led me to visit a pain medicine specialist instead of an orthopedist. Since waiting for an appointment at a university hospital could take a long time, I first visited a private clinic run by a renowned doctor from the list of specialists. I was prescribed medication suitable for my symptoms. Initially, the side effects of the medication were very severe. The main side effects included dizziness and nausea, but because the pain was even worse, I endured and continued taking the medication. I also visited a university hospital, received ketamine injections, and underwent CRPS testing, but early on, tests often do not show conclusive results. I received early treatment through injections and medication. Since CRPS is related to nerve issues, it is important to receive prompt treatment as soon as possible.
If there are patients suffering from CRPS, please do not lose hope and receive proper treatment.
