A review of improvement after taking melatonin supplements and exercising due to severe migraines
I had been living with migraines for several months, but even as time went on, my symptoms did not improve at all. So, to treat my migraines, I took related supplements for 2-3 months and started exercising, which I hadn't done before. As a result, the frequency of migraine attacks has significantly decreased, and my quality of life has greatly improved. The causes of migraines are so diverse that they cannot be strictly defined by a few factors. However, generally, stress-induced migraines are the most common, and lack of sleep, irregular lifestyle habits, food, and environmental factors are also involved. In my case, I originally did not have migraines, but they developed and worsened over the past 1-2 years. After thinking carefully, I realized that stress and lack of sleep were likely the main causes of my migraines. Ultimately, I decided that I needed to make an effort to treat my condition because my daily life had become too difficult due to migraines. I looked for and implemented ways to reduce stress and ensure quality sleep. First, to reduce mental stress, I started hiking and walking. I went hiking once every weekend for 4-5 hours, and after work, I took a walk in a neighborhood park for about 30 minutes to an hour after dinner. There is a research finding that hiking increases endorphin levels. The combination of fresh air, warm sunlight, physical activity, and visual fatigue reduction collectively increases endorphins and helps alleviate stress.
And for quality sleep, I bought and took a supplement called Hanmi Yanghaeng Melatonin. I thought that sleep aids might be worse for health, so I decided to take a supplement instead. Melatonin is a hormone that positively regulates sleep and is also said to be good for women going through menopause, so I decided to take melatonin.
When I first started hiking and walking, it was so exhausting that it actually increased my stress and worsened my migraines, but after about a month, my head felt lighter and my migraines began to decrease. And I started sleeping much better than before. After about two more months, my overall quality of life and mental and physical health began to improve, and my migraines significantly reduced, almost to the point where I had no symptoms. In the end, I felt proud that I found a healthy solution without going to the hospital and achieved good results. Now, I am free from migraine-related stress and can live a happy and normal daily life.
