Eight medical causes of back pain

When asked, "Is there any part of your body that feels uncomfortable?" I answer without a moment's hesitation,

You can say "It's my back."

Why does my back hurt so much??

I think I didn't realize I had back pain when I was young...

I really don't know if I didn't realize how painful it was... or if I just don't remember.

Since having the baby, my back has always been uncomfortable.

I used to think it was because I was holding or nursing the child, but now I don't think that's the case.

However, back pain is said to be one of the health issues that produces countless medical professionals every year.

It's not just because of poor posture; there are other reasons as well.

8 Medical Causes of Back Pain

Thinking about it, when I had a kidney infection, my back was insanely painful too.

It seems that simply poor posture is the cause of back pain.

Eight medical causes of back pain

1. Lumbar osteoarthritis

This degenerative disease affects the intervertebral discs of the spine, which serve as stabilizers for the spine. It causes an inflammatory response, leading to pain, stiffness, and difficulty with certain movements.

This condition usually occurs because joints wear out or become damaged with age. However, it can also result from trauma or excessive activity.

2. Muscle sprain

Stretching the muscles or ligaments in the lower back can also cause pain. This can lead to instability of the spine and difficulty maintaining certain postures.

It generally occurs due to sudden and repetitive movements in high-intensity exercise or sports. Overweight and other medical conditions can also be causes.

3. Muscle cramps

In most cases, back pain is caused by muscle problems. Muscle spasms cause the muscles to stiffen, leading to inflammation and pain.

Injuries like these occur when the body is moved improperly or when living with poor posture.

4. Lumbar disc herniation

Problems known as intervertebral disc herniation or osteophyte formation, which are also called intervertebral disc diseases, can also be causes of persistent lower back pain.

Degenerative diseases like this can lead to difficulties in stimulation, pain, and engaging in high-intensity sports. Generally, symptoms worsen when waking up in the morning or after sitting for a long time. Moreover, if there is nerve compression, the pain can radiate down to the legs.

5. Muscle weakness

Muscle weakness can be caused by physical inactivity, poor eating habits, or other unhealthy lifestyle choices. This results in the spine and joints losing stability and support ability.

As a result, a sprain in that area may cause pain to spread from the lower back to the limbs.

6. Female reproductive system diseases

Diseases affecting the female reproductive system can also lead to pain, which may occur intermittently. This often happens during periods of uterine contractions and during menstrual cramps.

It can also occur due to endometriosis or bladder infections.

If pain persists and extends from the pelvis to the lower back, it is advisable to visit a hospital.

7. Stomach and intestinal diseases

Most people think back pain is caused by the spine. However, in some cases, it can be a warning sign of a digestive system disorder.

Stomach ulcers, rectal pain, and constipation are all conditions that can cause back pain.

8. Kidney Disease

It is very important to consider kidney disease as a potential cause of back pain. While this may not be the only symptom, it usually appears when the problem worsens.

Pain is prominent in the side and central lower back, and it mainly occurs when there are kidney stones or urinary tract infections.

Other symptoms include changes in the color and smell of urine, low-grade fever, or burning sensation during urination.

Do you have back pain? If you have good health and posture but still experience these symptoms, you should see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis.

It is not always a serious problem, but it is good to check whether there is a larger underlying issue.
