Younger sibling's anterior cruciate ligament tear surgery
My younger sibling recently had a major surgery.
It was about 7 months ago, so it hasn't been long, but I knew it was a big deal. 😢
While playing soccer, he kicked the ball so hard that it hit the goalpost, and it is said that a sound like "Bbang!!~~~" was heard, indicating how forcefully he kicked.
I thought something serious had happened, so I quickly went to the hospital, and it turned out to be a torn cruciate ligament, but I need an MRI to confirm it. The doctor also said I might need surgery.
In the end, I fasted, completed various tests, and had surgery, but the doctor said that not only was the anterior cruciate ligament torn, but the cartilage was also ruptured.
I thought, "Even the cartilage can tear instantly..." but I also wondered how badly I was hurt to the point of affecting the cartilage... It brought tears to my eyes and my mind was blank, my spirit was stunned.
Fortunately, the surgery went well, so I was relieved...
After the surgery is over and at night when sleeping, why do I wake up so often? The pain is said to occur once every 1-2 minutes.
Moreover, it was so painful that it seemed like they were cutting their leg with a saw, and they were panicking. They were causing a fuss, and even I could tell how painful it was.
And then I dress the wound and drain the pus every day.
Dressing and bleeding...
Fortunately, the surgery went well. After that, I stayed in the hospital room without any major issues and was discharged, but even if I wanted to stay longer, other patients were waiting, so I was pushed out immediately.
The doctor told me to go to a rehabilitation hospital or a local clinic and can provide a referral letter.
They also said it would be of great help.
They say it's not because of the surgery at their hospital.
Eventually, I stayed at the local rehabilitation hospital for a few days before being discharged, and the surgical scar is not as large as I thought. The wound has healed well, so it's not difficult to live now.
Oh... and an important thing is that when you go to the hospital, you should prepare crutches, a phone holder, shower wipes, toiletries, spare clothes, a power strip, and snacks.
Being in the hospital for a long time is very uncomfortable.
I still have to go out or order food every time for meals; it's not easy to eat the hospital-provided meals as they are.
Patients suffer, but their families also go through hardships, so you need to prepare well for various things.
Of course, not having to go to the hospital is the best!!
