I will share four aspects: symptoms and treatment of skin cysts.
A skin cyst has developed on the back of my hand.
At first, I thought it was a lump or a bone, and when I bent my wrist, it hurt and seemed like a bone was protruding.
The X-ray results from the orthopedic consultation indicated a common skin cyst (fluid-filled sac).

โ Definition
A disease characterized by cyst formation on the palm, back of the hand, wrist, fingers, and ankle
It occurs in the membrane surrounding the joint and appears as a lump under the skin.
If you use your hands frequently, they grow larger; if you don't use them, they become smaller or disappear.
More common in women than men, especially in their 10s to 30s.
ย
โ Cause
Not yet diagnosed
It is known that the cells surrounding tendons or joints degenerate, produce mucin, and form a lump.
ย
โ Symptoms
It jumps out when you bend or move your wrist.
It feels firm and painful.
ย
โ Diagnosis
Orthopedic consultation X-ray results show no abnormalities in the bones; they are normal.
It was a Himalayan skin cyst (sebaceous cyst).

โ Treatment
Using a long needle syringe that almost reached the back of the hand in the treatment room, I drew out the mucus hidden inside the skin cyst, and the skin cyst quickly flattened.
Fortunately, at the point when I felt okay, a skin cyst reappeared, and I also complained of pain.
I went back to the orthopedic department and used a long needle to remove the mucous from the skin cyst, and there was hardly any trace that a skin cyst had ever been there.
There is still a pocket remaining, so considering recurrence, surgery is also an option, but the doctor said it might be enough to just remove the mucus.
I tried to go to the hospital again because a skin cyst appeared, but it suddenly disappeared. It seems like it burst on its own from inside.
More than ten years have passed, but I never developed a skin cyst again.
