I'm sharing my experience after almost having surgery for a herniated cervical and lumbar disc after initial treatment at Ansan Tuntun Hospital.

A few years ago, I worked at a job where I had to sit for a long time and my posture was not good.

My back and neck pain got worse, so I went to what seemed like a large hospital. I ended up visiting Ansan Tuntun Hospital.

The inside of the hospital was clean and the nurses were friendly. yo. this.

The young doctor seemed relatively cold.

 

The diagnosis after X-ray, CT, and MRI was

 

Cervical disc herniation Cervical vertebrae 3-4, 4-5 👉 Cervical disc

Lumbar disc herniation (L4-5)

It was what is called a herniated cervical or lumbar disc. But the doctor immediately said, They recommended surgery, even though I was in my mid-30s.

 

My back was constantly hurting, but I didn't have any symptoms of numbness or paralysis. I was surprised that you mentioned surgery first even though I didn't have any.

When I looked at the diagnosis later, it wasn't a definitive diagnosis, but a clinical estimate. Surgery?

 

I didn't understand why they were even offering CT and MRI scans right away, but when I heard about the surgery, I thought it might be overtreatment, so I said I'd think about it and left. I'd heard before that I should avoid hospitals that recommend surgery first.

Even the common physical therapy wasn't prescribed, only medication. After that, I searched for exercises while taking medicine at home.

I got a lot better after rehabilitation.

 

It seems like it was a condition that could be improved with sufficient exercise or physical therapy. I felt like there was overtreatment.

I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my neck and back and the hospital bill alone was 500,000 won.

☑️ Bridge Exercise

✔️Lie down facing the ceiling with both arms extended and hands

The floor Put your hands on the floor. Keep your knees up and form an A shape.

Rock pose I'll get you drunk.

✔️Exhale and lift your pelvis upwards.

     Hold for 1-2 seconds, squeezing your buttocks.

✔️Inhale and lower your pelvis to the floor.

 

☝️Repeat the movement 10 times.

 

️ ☑️ McKenzie Exercise

✔️Lie on the floor with your stomach flat and your legs stretched straight behind you

     I bow down.

✔️Take a deep breath and slowly move your forehead, chin, chest, and belly button in that order.

✔️Hold the body up for about 10 seconds and then lower it again.

Slowly Go down in reverse order.

 

☝️Repeat the movement 5 times.

 

☑️ Superman Workout

✔️In the prone position, look at the floor and place both hands on the

✔️Exhale and raise both arms and legs like Superman

consolation Lift as high as you can and hold for 3 to 5 seconds.

✔️Inhale and return to the starting position.

 

☝️Repeat 5 times per set, 5 sets each.

 

❌Exercises that patients with lumbar disc herniation should not do

 

❗️Sports that require strong jumping, such as jumping rope, basketball, and soccer

 

❗️Doing things that excessively rotate your waist, such as hula hooping or golfing

work out

 

❗️Strong lower back muscles for sit-ups, deadlifts, etc.

     Necessary exercise

☑️Mokeri Dori Dori exercise

 

Patients with cervical disc herniation should relax their neck and relieve tension in their neck muscles. You need to exercise. The exercise I will teach you is unique to Mokeri Oriental Medicine Hospital. This is a prescribed exercise for patients with cervical disc herniation. It's simple and easy to follow. I'm introducing this exercise because it's also effective.

I still think there is no cure and I am continuing to do so.

Even as a preventative measure, it would be helpful to consistently do exercises that are good for your neck and back discs. I think so.
